Classic-Castle Set Review: Crossbow Cart

This week’s set is 1712 Crossbow Cart.

Crossbow Cart, one of the smallest Dragon Master’s sets, was released in 1993. It features a Dragon Master soldier pushing a cart armed with two crossbows, a spear, a sword, and a shield.


Bricks of the Realm

Sam Z., who goes by the nickname /TheBricks\, is a TFOL from Michigan. Recently he was playing the PC role playing game Fate and he was inspired to make a series of vignettes, including Bonecrusher the troll, above. The creatures and settings are from his imagination, but the resulting Bricks of the Realm certainly evokes memories of those hours spent playing D&D and other similar games. This week’s set is 6008 Royal King.

Royal King was released in 1995 for the Royal Knights. The King comes with his trusty steed and various accessories.

This week’s set is 6095 Royal Joust.

Royal Joust was released in 2000 for the Knight’s Kingdom. One of the King’s knights jousts against a Bull’s knight. A rotating axe and shield device is in the middle of the joust. The rest of the set is a pavilion with a stained glass window, King Leo, and accessories.

This week’s set is 6062 Battering Ram.

Battering Ram was released in 1987. Two soldiers and one archer guard the Black Falcon tower and wall which can connect to 6074 Black Falcon’s Fortress. Two lion soldiers and one lion archer use the ram to attack the door in the wall.


Vikings and Dragons

Austrian builder Stefan Käsmayer, known as - 2x4 -, built this Viking scene that drew inspiration from the game the Elder Scrolls and the movies The 13th Warrior and How to Train Your Dragon. Stefan lives in Vienna where he is a member of LGOe - LEGO® Gemeinschaft Österreich. All of his MOCs can be found in his Flickr stream, though his older work can also be found on Brickshelf and MOCpages.

This week’s set is 8822 Gargoyle Bridge.

Gargoyle Bridge was released in 2006 for Knight's Kingdom II. Karzon and a rogue knight attack with their battering ram. Adric defends the bridge and gated tower with giant falling axes. Various accessories such as a pike, flag, and torches are included.
