Caithness Broch Project
19 VII 16

A broch is a round stone structure built in Scotland about 2000 years ago, perhaps built for defensive purposes, perhaps as more peaceful farm dwellings. Most of these are found in the extreme north of Scotland or along the western coast. If you're anywhere in the area, be sure to check it out, and also discuss it in our forum.

Battle of Hastings

950 years ago this October, William the Conqueror defeated Harold Godwinson at the Battle of Hastings, reshaping English history for centuries to come. James Pegrum (aka Peggyjdb in our forum) and Jimmy Clinch (aka Thomas Arrowford in our forum), both part of the Bricks to the Past collaboration have made a massive rendition of the battleground, as well as a number of smaller scenes of surrounding events based on the Bayeaux Tapestry. You can see them all on their site or, if you are anywhere near northwest England you should go see them in person along with other great builds at the Bricks in Time exhibition. Whether you see these virtually or in the brick, come discuss them in our forum.
