CC Monthly Challenges
The monthly buiding challenge is not a contest. Each month, an idea is proposed to encourage people to build, with very few constraints or rules. The emphasis is on fun, so there is no judging or choosing of winners and losers.
February 2012

Happy Groundhog's Day! - Groundhogs live underground, so your challenge this month is to build something underground. It could be a buried treasure, a burial in a graveyard, an iron mine, a cave with a monster, sappers undermining a wall, a whole dwarven kingdom, whatever. Be creative!
January 2012

Year of the Dragon - Happy Year of the Dragon! With the end of contest season, let's usher in the New Year with another building challenge. In honor of 2012, Year of the Dragon, your theme is dragons. Feel free to build anything - a dragon, feature the Dragon Masters in a MOC, or show us a company of dragoons. Be creative. Since this is the year of the Water Dragon, bonus points for making water a key component of your MOC
July 2011

Conflict! - Here we are in July and its time for another monthly challenge. We have been having fairly peaceful challenges lately and I've decided that its time to stir things up a bit. The topic this time is Conflict. Wars, raids, seiges, ambush, domestic squabbles, arm wrestling, its all fair game!
June 2011

Weddings, Celebrations, and Feasts - Your challenge, in honor of the month of June, is to build some sort of celebration. Anything goes, from a traditional wedding to International Cave Troll Day. Let's see what you've got!
April 2011

April Fool - This month's inspiration is the fool. Feature the jester fig (or your own custom) in a MOC.
March 2011

Think green - In honor of St. Paddy's Day, this month's challenge is 'Think Green'. Take that any way you want. You could simply go with a green color scheme, or feature a faction with green livery such as the Dragon Knights or the Forestmen. Or be festive and give us some leprechauns. Or how about illustrating Gawain and the Green Knight. Maybe some architecture with a green man motif. Narnia fans could show us the Lady of the Green Kirtle, or Middle Earth fans could have hobbits drinking at the Green Dragon. Be creative!
February 2011

Love is in the air - Let's get ready for Valentine's Day! This month your challenge is to celebrate love, whether you give us a king and queen, or the fair princess and her chivalrous champion. Maybe you'll illustrate Guinevere and Lancelot, or Troilus and Criseyde. Venus is rising and love is in the air.
Alas, my love, you do me wrong,
To cast me off discourteously.
For I have loved you well and long,
Delighting in your company.

January 2011

Inspired by Tolkien - This month's challenge is to build something inspired by the work of J.R.R. Tolkien. This could be anything from a custom fig up to a full-scale Minas Tirith. You could draw on anything - books, movies, cartoons, Lord of the Rings, The Hobbit, The Homecoming of Beorhtnoth Beorhthelm's Son, whatever.
July 2010

Myths, Legends, and Tales - This month's challenge centers around Myths, Legends, and Tales of all sorts. Build a Troll-infested bridge or a hirsute maiden trapped in a tower. Anything is fair game. Show us what you've got!
June 2010

Trade and Commerce - This month's challenge focuses on medieval commerce. Let out your inner merchant and set forth on a journey of adventure and profit!
May 2010

Animal Kingdom - Do anything animal related. Anything. Build a farm, build a knight with animalistic heraldry, build a brick-built beastie ravaging the countryside, etc.
April 2010

Chess - build anything chess related. It can be a full set, one side, just the board, or just one piece.
March 2010

Build a full scale medieval weapon.
