Re: LEGO Pick a Brick Feedback
I agree with everything other people have posted... Right now they're not competing very well with bricklink prices on a lot of parts, and I'm afraid that won't change. So it would be best to flesh out the selection of parts where they can compete on either price or availability: animals, minifigs a...

Re: Castle at Brickworld 2009
Sorry for the last-minute addition, but I recently built a haunted tree that I'll bring along... maybe we can fit it into the display. http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3565/3560117701_eb942d5fe6_m.jpg http://www.flickr.com/photos/saaz42/3560117701/in/photostream David, if you're trying to organize the...

Re: Buying Lego saved my credit
I've had a few calls from Visa regarding Lego purchases. I had made some large purchases at Shop@Home and Visa called me to confirm that I it was really me. Heh, I've had the same thing happen. You know you have a Lego problem when the bank calls to check whether your credit card has been stolen. :D

Re: Broken Legos
In my experience, the best way to glue plastics is to solvent-weld them. Get a solvent that can dissolve the plastic, apply a tiny bit of it, and press the parts together until they stick together on their own. Then give it a while, maybe a day or two, to reach full strength. The resulting joint is ...

Re: Castle at Brickworld 2009
I just registered for BW, and plan to be there Thursday through Sunday, though I'm combining it with a vacation with my GF, visiting her family, so I may be pulled away some of the time. (I'm hoping it'll turn out the other way around, that I'll convince them to come to BW, but we'll see. :) ) Coinc...

Last Summer I went to the two suburban Lego stores and they seemed like typical Lego stores, similar to the one near me in GA. Both stores had similar PAB selections. Neither store seemed to have much in the way of sales or scratch-n-dent sets... perhaps other Brickworld attendees had beaten me to t...

First, welcome back to Lego! I recently came out of a dim age too, and I've been re-sorting my Lego so I can actually do something with it. I think you're on the right track, but be prepared to adjust as you sort and build more. I'm mostly sorted by shape, but basic bricks are sorted into drawers wi...

The green anime wig ( http://www.peeron.com/inv/parts/x1569 ) can be used as cabbage or lettuce, as in the Market Street set. Don't forget the cherries that are currently available on online PAB for a decent price. (I think cherries were available in medieval Europe. Or you could pretend they're som...

I have a tub of Lego at work that's been heavily used and abused by a lot of adults over the years. I've noticed cracks in quite a few bricks, but assumed that was due to the heavy use. But ... it seems like the newer 1xN bricks (mostly from a 2003-4 tub) have been more prone to cracking. More recen...

From an AFOL point of view I find this set pretty disappointing, because it could've been so useful if only it had been made of gray bricks... I would've bought an armload of them if that had been the case. But I can understand that they're targeting a younger age range and maybe they felt brighter ...
