Re: Cuusoo - The Landscaping Kit

I definitely supported this. A "tree pack" set like this has been a "holy grail" set since I was a child and first got the Forestman's River Fortress. Why have a forest hide-out if there is no forest around it. :raiseone: The use for town and train layouts is also quite obvious. ...

Re: Favorite Top 3 Lego Castle Sets You Own

1. 6086 Black Knight's Castle - The best "castle" set Lego has ever released despite the elevated baseplate. This is the set that all other castles are judged against. The only set that comes close to being as good is the Black Falcon's Fortress. (and that is half the size) :D 2. 6077 Fore...

Re: Review: 2010 Kingdoms advent calendar

So I managed to pick up the advent calendar at my local Lego store. The checkered torso guard has the faded pinkish printing. With the exception of the Jester impulse which was perfect, I have been intentionally not buying any set with checkered torso guards just because of this. The rest of t...

Count Blacktron wrote:I love, love, love these, but TRU in the USA wants $4.49 each!? I would stock up if they'd sell them for at LEAST $1.50 less.
$3.49US is the MSRP on those so you will not find them for $1.50 less unless you score a crazy good sale.

Re: The Search for the Greatest Castle Set of All Time: Vote Now

Is there a date when it will go out of production or is it just speculations? Thought exlusive/hard to find-sets usually stayed for 2 years (2011 in the case of MMV then). And yeah, I think it's a fair winner, and among the finalists it's the one I would have voted for too. The MMV was introduced i...

Re: Collectable Minifigures (Now with AFOL Review)

Figs tend to go up in value if one of a few things happen: they are from a really expensive set and are exclusive to that set, they are from a licensed set that was big and had exclusive figs to it, or and this is a new one...the comic book fans find out about them and want them..this happened with...

Re: Collectable Minifigures (Now with AFOL Review)

At the most, I'd say they'd be $10 at the most when series 1 is discontinued. If there are not large quantities of these still coming down the retail distribution chain (like Wal-Mart and Target in the U.S. might actually get several boxes per store), you can bet $10 will be how much the dive...

Re: Collectable Minifigures (Now with AFOL Review)

Looks like U.S. S@H is sold out of Series One. I haven't seen any in any store I have visited including the local Lego store. The Lego Company pathetically under estimated the demand for these. Unless retail chains are slowly distributing a lot more of these then we have been led to believe (w...

Re: Kingdoms MSRPs?

Actually as I posted in this thread the impulse sets were $3.99US at my local Lego store. The Battle packs were $14.99 and the cart was $9.99. I looked at the prices on the small catapult ($6.99) and the small Lion tower ($19.99). I didn't look at the two larger sets as I only had as small amount to...

Re: The Kingdoms Sets released!

I picked up a Dragon battle pack ($14.99US), the wizard ($3.99US), the jester ($3.99US), and the prison cart ($9.99US) at the local Lego store. The plastic in the battle pack as far as I can tell is identical or nearly so to the normal sets. The torso printing on the checkered shirts is slightly dif...

Re: 1980's LEGO ad

Anyone remember this Toys 'R' Us commercial featuring the giant Castle mini-figs. And yes that is Jaleel White before he played Steve Urkel building 6080 King's Castle. (Note that most of the commercial is not about Lego but it does have that one really good bit.)

Re: 10193 Medieval Market Village - Official Thread

Also, the "Friese Koeien", or Friesians as most foreigners call them (except for Americans, they call them Holsteins for unknown reasons) are from origin a tipically Dutch breed of cow (again, see the Wikipedia link). Brown cows were probably more common elsewhere, I'm no expert on the bo...

Troll Battlepack (announced on Eurobricks)

See it here. Awesome. :D It even comes with 3 shields. To me, this is ten times better than the Knight and Skeleton battle packs. Maybe we will get a Dwarf battle pack too.

This set is awesome. My favorite thing is that it is in the same scale as Dan's Blacksmith set. That is my preferred scale as it is large enough for a lot of detail, but small enough to fit a relatively large layout in small area. Basically it still feels like "classic" scale, quite unlike...

Castle Advent calander available in US and Canada!

From Eurobricks Update by Hinckley: To get the calendar in the US Call 1.800.835.4386 (Brothers-Brick has the wrong number listed) and order no more than 2 7979 by giving them the code JesterUS. In Canada the code is JesterCA @ (1.877.518.5346). It is also advised that you only order your calendars ...
