LEGO Dimensions Game: Hope for New LOTR Sets? (Speculation)

The announcement of Warner Bros.'s upcoming Skylanders ' style video game, LEGO Dimensions , which features players interacting in "worlds" created from various intellectual properties, including Lord of the Rings , poses interesting possibilities for future sets. Many of us were bummed by...

Re: LEGO Minifigures Series 13

A lot of good figures here, to be be sure. Strong Likes: king, goblin, evil wizard, Egyptian soldier, female samurai, Likes: hot dog suit guy. I'm not usually much interested in the " x suit guy" group of figs, but between hot dog suit guy and the King rocking the BK look, I kinda want to ...

Re: New Hobbit Set Pictures

I think I have to join my voice to those saying the sets look uninspired. Maybe I'm too focused on what I'm not getting in these sets: cool scenes that involve good numbers of generic good guy figs. I mean, the movie is called The Battle of Five Armies , and if I recall from the book correctly, at l...

Re: Battle of the Castle Sets: 6075 vs 6077

Had to go with the Forestmen on this. The Wolfpack have cool heraldry and are a great concept for a faction, but they were always lacking in set quantity and design quality in my opinion. Also, the Forestmen have this neat design aesthetic of intermixing gnarly trees and ancient stone ruins that gav...

Re: Thebrickstop.com

I'm not inclined to read the kickstarter proposal, but I highly doubt that a no seller-fees model would be fiscally viable for very long. Bricklink gets big traffic, which requires bandwith, servers, and site design/maintenance/development--all of which cost money. Even if the venture were non-profi...

Re: LOTR and the hobbit lego

While the gladius is a cool sword, it doesn't make any sense to me why Legolas would carry it. The movies feature a distinct style of elven blade. Ideally there would be a new mold for this piece, but I guess that's not going to happen. Still, elves is evles . :)

Request for Designer-Community Interview

I think it would be a cool idea to arrange an interview with an actual LEGO designer answering questions submitted by the CC community. My ultimate vision: a podcast between a community representative and a lego designer (perhaps an admin or an ambassador). Not being anything of a tech person, I hav...

Re: Bullet Helm in Metallic Silver

I am also for the metallic silver bullet helm. I miss the bullet helm terribly. How long has it been since last we've seen it? 10 years+? On a broader note, wiith the exception of the abominations that were the KKII visors, I'm for seeing just about every helmet piece in a broader variety of "m...

Re: Pining for a Red Wizard Hat

Shouldn't the Earth Mage have a brown hat, btw? Yes, certainly that's one way to represent the earth mage. However, my vision for this mage encompasses earth's verdant aspects as well. So I guess he's really a combination earth/nature mage. Plus, I like bright colors for mages. Now that you mention...

"How firm thy friendship O-Le-go." Go Bucks!

Seroiusly though, did you read the cost he estimated had he bought all the pieces new? That's a lot of professor dollars sunk into the hobby.

Pining for a Red Wizard Hat

Technically, this piece already exists, but from what I understand, the few copies that were made in red were created to test the molds. The piece has never been released in red in an official set and, as a result, it is both difficult to find (available at bricklink, but not from any sellers within...

Transitioning: Five Years After the Color Change

Hi All, With bley/red brown pieces now having solidly stocked sets and PAB bins (though one can still find the odd part in old grey/brown there) for a number of years, I was wondering how AFOL's have adjusted their collections, and building and buying habits to the change. Personally, I have develop...

Re: Real LEGO House

Amazing. Who of us hasn't dreamed of being able to build a real-life house. On the other hand, I hope he consulted some good architects/engineers about the feasibility of using Legos as a construction material. I wonder how the structure will hold up during temperature extremes as the bricks expand ...

Question regarding new Lego Store

Can anyone confirm whether or not the new Lego Store in Orland Park is open yet? Lego.com still lists the store as "coming soon," but because the stores often open a few weeks before their "official opening," I thought there might be a chance I could stop by while I'm in the Joli...
