Re: May: Does your army match?
My armies used to match. More and more, I try to diversify them to make them more realistic. Now I have several knights with their retinues which more or less match the colors of their lord but are by no means identical. Some men-at-arms wear their lord's livery but most don't, especially not the ar...

Re: Two Great Castle Minifigs in CMF 20
Saw Series 20 minifigs at Target today! Grabbed two, but did not get the Knight or Viking.
I was surprised to see them and thought I must have misread. Perhaps they got put out by mistake?

A knight's retinue size and make-up
Hello all, As I'm starting to focus on building a more realistic army, I'm trying to find out what a knight's retinue would actually look like. I'm separating them by century (I've got 11th, 12th, 13th, 14th and 15th century knights) from regions in Spain, Wales, England, France and Germany mostly. ...

Re: Chain mail arms
Yes, surcoat is what I mean. I feel that Lego castle (aside from the Vikings) is usually trying to recreate 12th century onward. I don't have a problem with mail printed torsos, but looking at images from the Macejowski (sp?) Bible for example show a full shirt of mail, not simply over the torso. Fo...

Chain mail arms
I'm sure this has been discussed before, but I cannot find it. It seems recently the trend has been to created armor printed torsos with colorful arms and legs. However, when I look at pictures from the castle eras, if I see a tunic at all it is over the mail armor, with arms and legs exposed. I und...

Norman Kite Shield Decals
Recently I decided to push my army back into the 11th and 12th century, which has meant losing some pieces (visor helms, heater shields, etc). http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v78/Pallando/Legos/th_photo.jpg?t=1299716518 Two Normans with a Saxon soldier behind them. I've been looking at the Bayeux ...

Re: Repairing cracked arms and torsos
I've had this happen at well. You know, if you're throwing them out anyway, you may as well glue a hand in. Or even better with a pair of hips. The hand won't turn, but the hips don't lie. Er, come out, I mean. And I'd rather have an original torso with glued in hips than throwing away a cracked cru...

Knight Exchange?
I like the idea of a famous knight from some far away land. I like personalizing my knights with names, personalities and heraldry. I love seeing other AFOLs who do the same with their sigfigs, and it gives them a much more real feel when someone other than you created them. I thought it would be co...

They had possibly my favorite lego head for a foot soldier:

I have also come to love this torso. And (old) dark grey arms have become something of envy for me now.

I wouldn't choose such a long name. I think that if a city were named that in real life, anyone who talked about it would give it a nickname because it is so long. Although, you could name your city that and come up with a nickname. Then you have the beginnings of a unique culture! :D Have you seen...
