The contests don't really do anything for me besides inspiration. I don't have enough bricks or ability to compete.

I'm here for constructive criticism, good examples, and info. Which I've gotten here in good amount!

Send the email. If that's all they've offered you, that's obviously the only way they want to be contacted. If they ignore it, they did this to themselves.

Hmmm that's a good point, it could be so hard to return it, you might be gifted with it anyway. I mean doing the right thing is nice but there's a limit. I'd make one good faith effort to contact TRU to send me a prepaid shipping sticker so I could send it back. If they don't respond, then it's thei...

Karma can be a real witch. Some day it might be you who sends out too many sets by mistake. Call the number on the invoice, explain, and do what they ask.

The problem I see with this is that it's only good for a "facade", granted that particular example is an excellent facade, but if you want any internal rooms I'd think this design could make that quite difficult. Of course you could put internal rooms on plates and then drop them into the ...

Well it certainly is more complicated than that and I'm not that blase about it to think one gender is just meant to be thrown away, I'm just saying people behave as they do for a practical reason. It's not politically correct to admit it, but gender does make a difference in determining where the g...

I admit, I tend to think of the minifigs as male, but that's because they're always doing "male" things: fighting, exploring deep space, running dangerous machines, etc. Think about it for a second. Who's more valuable to society? It ain't the boys. How many men do you actually need? Two m...

1. Bricklink is great for generic parts. Consider buying 1x1 and 2x2 cylinders. Headlight/snot bricks are also good for creative details. You can do alot with a little, and at least a pinch of part diversity doesn't hurt! I've actually got a decent assortment of these relative to the size of the sm...

That's just cool. I like how it's small but so detailed without being cluttered. I started counting in my head and realized that's a lot of bricks in that little scene!

First Original Creation in 12 Years

Yeah. So it's not my best or anything. Not enough bricks. Concept: A band of soldiers led by Count Studhead and Baron Brickchewer has been pursuing the traitorous Sir Stinker for weeks. Sir Stinker is wanted for crimes against the king, including kidnapping Lady Lamename. In the course of their purs...

That is just way awesome. Some people laugh at the idea of adults and older teenagers messing around with Lego, but stuff like this shows what's possible.

Yeah I went ahead and got that weird set. I kept the instructions for a lark and sorted the parts by approximate type. It's almost perfect, really. The trim elements are no good. The mini figs are of limited appeal but I think I can use some parts of them. But there's lots of black and dark gray bit...

Yes! I so want a small set that has the wizard in it on his own! Most awesome! I hope there's a medium sized building in this too.
