Re: 40601 Majisto’s Magical Workshop GWP

This GWP was fine as a concept. I just bought one from eBay for like $40 and skipped the GWP process entirely. My main issues are the minigures, I have no problems with the structure, as a set. I can't say anything that likely hasn't been said already, but I can cope with Majisto, the DM knight is a...

Re: CMF Series 25

Well, most places in my area only seem to have received one box of them. Once those were gone there was no restock anywhere. If I was a kid using my allowance, or whatever, I wouldn't have had the opportunity to buy enough of them to get a reasonable chance of getting the ones I wanted. If you're no...

Re: 10305 Lion Knight's castle.

The embargo has been lifted and the reviews are out. Brother's Brick Review Honestly, having read through this review, I'm more impressed with this set. What was floating around be...

Re: Minifig Lute Player

I saw it on some video recently that the packaking is indeed changing. Came to think that things like the centaur from some series must have been so easy to find, if any of the bags happened to have it. Now... Will we spot people pulling out gram scales while lego shopping? I'll admit to being guil...

Re: Minifig Lute Player

I don't know... looking through the history of them, I found around 25 that I would consider to be solidly related to Castle and/or fantasy Castle. The CMF knight figures have been pretty great and I'll probably hunt around for an example of the female crown knight once they show up in stores. As to...

Anyone have good photos (multiple angles) of this set assembled?

Re: What do you think is the worst LEGO Castle set before 19

I guess, as I'm not the one resurrecting a long dead thread, I'd like to cast my vote for 6077: Knight's Procession. If you were looking for an army builder back in the day it was probably fine, but my brother got this set when we were kids and without an opposing faction it was somewhat boring. I b...

Re: 10305 Lion Knight's castle.

My goodness it's been a long time since I posted anything. Honestly, Lego got my attention and eventually my money with this set. The price tag is... high... but I think this is an amazing set and I'd be beside myself if I had owned something like this as a kid. In fact, this set has me so excited t...

Re: Pics of New Hobbit Sets

The parts are great too, and the new mushroom piece is pretty cool.
That mushroom piece is also included in the Harry Potter set, I have considered picking one up because I like the tree and the figures look somewhat useful:

Re: CC Set Review: 6011 Black Knight's Treasure

I think sets like this represent everything that is right about a low price point Castle set. You get a soldier and something for him to do. If you have other sets he can interact with those or be a stand alone for a little adventuring around the Kingdom (house). Little supply wagons and pieces of s...

Re: Pics of New Hobbit Sets

I picked up the Elf Archer and Gandalf polybag sets at TRU today while Christmas shopping for my kids. They are both great sets and worth the money. There were about 10 Gandalf sets but only one Elf set. Pieces are useful and there is actually some neat play value with the Elf set, not so much with ...

Re: Discussion: Knight's Kingdoms vs. Ninjago

I'm going to go ahead and throw my 2-cents in. KK was just a really bad attempt at a new castle line that probably resulted from misreading market research and focus groups. I believe KK was what TLG thought would be a serious attempt. They probably had research showing that realistic castle wouldn'...

Re: Lego VIP Top-5 Boxed Minifigures

The only one I could see as being useful, other than for collecting, is the Elf and I got one from TRU when they were in the Minifigure collection. Seems like this is more of a marketing attempt to drum up collector interest from AFOLs, who would keep the set in the box for future value, rather than...

Re: News: Death of the Classic Horse

I could take or leave the new horse. It's neat, but I grew up on the old horses so they were the norm for me (my older brothers remembered the brick built horses from Yellow Castle and it took them a while to get used to what we are now calling the "old" horse). At any rate, the focus grou...

Re: LotR sets revealed!

Is everyone aware of the option on Lego.com to buy the LOTR collection? It's all the sets together, at a slightly discounted price. There's also one called the Helms Deep collection that has Helms Deep and Uruk-Hai army. Similar packages are also available for other lines. Yes, but spending a coupl...
