Re: DawnBright Keep

I really like the shape of the towers and the difference between the back and front. The windows protruding from the round towers are a nice touch. And points to you for the gatehouse! The red tudor adds a nice splash of color, but its function seems to be purely aesthetic. My only real quibble is t...

Re: Weekly Set Review

If I judge this set by what exists and not what I wish would exist, I think it is one of the most spectacular castle fig impulse sets of late, outdone only by the Knight perhaps. I too can see it being dropped amidst an MMV layout, and in fact I may do that very thing if I choose to pick one up.

Re: Medieval Market Village Diorama

You have done an excellent job of conveying the bustling market atmosphere. The variety in the buildings is splendid, and I applaud your reimagining of the official MMV houses. Your parts usage for the bride's wedding veil is also very creative. Well done, sir!

Re: With a Crew of Wolfpack Pirates . . .

This little vessel brought a smile to my face. I'm really liking the figurehead. But I am curious: why did you invert the arms?

Re: CCC VII Team Challenge List Posted!

Hey, team, sorry about not entering. I went to upload at 11:40, forgot that being in Minnesota for Christmas put me at an hour's difference than my normal time zone. Eastern time is 12:40. My bad guys. I take responsibility for that.

Re: Christmas Fig Exchange

Well, even though I received the package a week early, I decided to hold out 'til Christmas. Remyth sent me a wonderful fig: With and without battle gear: http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4006/4214159197_16c205cfdf_m.jpg http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4072/4214929840_5d9b474fd2_m.jpg The description h...

That is an excellent point. Lets hope it is that easy.

Re: Pachyderm Castle (CCCVII)

Hmm...To evaluate or not to evaluate. Well, since you asked, I shall give you my thoughts. :) I like the overall construction. It could seem very much a believable castle to me (regardless of its inhabitants. ;) ). I like the little lanterns and the stained glass windows. The blue highlights help fi...

The Bladed Grate (Pirate MOC!)

One of my first ever Pirate MOCs. (Or is it the first ever...I do not recall...): The Bladed Grate http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2779/4139525372_09a29da945_m.jpg The Bladed Grate is a particularly cruel manner of execution. Victims are dropped into a pool of stagnant water and the Bladed Grate is s...

Re: CCCVII-Outlaw Escape Gone Wrong

Well, EK, I'm gonna come out and say it: I am not a big fan of yellow castles. (Ducks collective community bricks) That being said, I love what you've done with the waves at the bottom, especially in using a different color for them. I also like the rubble on the inside of the window. It's a very ni...

But, I don't mean like adding on another baseplate, I mean like adding on a few bricks too add the smallest deatil which can help your vignette to improve. Hmm...if you have any suggestions, feel free to share them. To be honest, I think any further detail would detract from the focus of the vig: t...

Re: CCCVI Entry: The General is summoned to war...

That's it. I quit! I QUIT! ;) No seriously, this is a very, very beautiful creation. There is much to love about it. For one thing, the walls are perfect. I really like the inversion of the typical dk grey on light grey convention. The roof is spectacular, and the fig posing is wonderful. The tree a...

Re: CCCVII Training a Knight - Bear Claw Clan

I've really been enjoying your Bear Claw Clan MOCs. They have a very unique flavor to them, and I am a total sucker for custom factions. My favorite is the bog-riding scene. Those spiky hurdles look plain old nasty! Hope he keeps his balance! I also like the small, tall (how's that for an oxymoron?)...

Re: Sunday's sermon at Notre Dame de la Carce

I really, really like the carving of the minifig crouching beneath the pulpit, and the figs sitting in the chairs. There's some excellent unconventional posing there. The stained glass windows are an excellent touch, but I feel the wall space beneath the crucifix is a little bare. But irregardless, ...
