Re: Angled Walls (Tips?)

To add to Bruce's post, when building Pythagorean triples, you need to count the number of 'gaps' between studs on each side, not the number of studs. A 1 x 6 brick has six studs but five 'gaps', which is why it works for the long side of Bruce's example. So, a basic 3,4,5 triangle needs to have fou...

Re: Angled Walls (Tips?)

The LEGO Creator website has a number of video tips, one of the very earliest was by Jamie Berard on creating angled walls. You can find it here . It's not the only technique, but it's a powerful one. Edit: The useful technique isn't demonstrated until about the halfway point in the video; you'll fi...

Re: Want to BORROW

I have known footsteps for fewer years, but he's a great guy in my opinion too. That's why I mailed an envelope yesterday containing eight of each piece he requested. I'm curious to see what the project is that he has in mind. :)

Re: Collectible Minifigures - London Olympics

They are certainly real. If you go to Shop@Home and change your region to Great Britain, you can find them in the Minifigures section listed at £1.99.

Troy's store - Tagged for Removal While I respect your initiative in trying to clean up this important resource, if you look at the front page of Classic-Castle, you'll see that the link to "Troy's Surplus Lego" is prominently featured. The reason for this is, if I remember correctly, it'...

Welcome to Classic-Castle. :) I think you'll fined that a number of us were sucked back into collecting, building, etc. by the Crownie line, so you're in good company.

Re: Minifigures Series 7

They've made their appearance here (Southern Ontario), and I spent a while picking my way through a box yesterday, taking home three Aztecs, two Vikings, and two boar knights. The Aztec completely lived up to my (high) expectations, and I was also quite happy with the Viking. It would be nice if her...

I did some searching through Bricklink, and the only one I found was from the Friends line: link. Was that the one you had in mind?

Re: What's Needed for Cuusoo Success?

Could it be that there are not 10,000 AFOLs? If there are AFOLs who are not supporting the modular western town, I'd like to hear why not? Not into western? Not into modular? Not into voting in internet polls? Steve Fair questions. I'm not supporting the Western town, even though I think it's an in...

What's Needed for Cuusoo Success?

I've been following the development of Cuusoo with interest, not so much the individual projects, although there are some very lovely candidates, but more so the process by which projects are selected. So far two models have hit the 10,000 supporter mark: Minecraft and The Winchester from Shaun of t...

Right now shop.lego.com has free shipping for any order over $75. If you're looking to get either of these two sets, now is the time to do it. :)

Re: Medieval Market Village or Kingdoms Joust

Thanks for all your comments. Right now I'm leaning towards MMV. I'm also shopping around trying to find MMV or KJ since I'd rather not have to pay any shipping fees. Does anyone have any suggestions of what stores might still carry it? I live in Canada btw. There is one store I'm going to check to...

Re: Longer handling for sets on BL?

Here's a couple of things to think about. 1. You said that you paid seven days ago. How did you pay? If you paid by Paypal, for example, you may have initiated payment seven days ago but that payment may not yet have cleared. While many sellers will ship as soon as payment is initiated, some do not ...

Lego Star Wars - 10 More Years

For those of you who may not have seen this, it looks like Lucasfilm and Lego have renewed their partnership for another ten years ( see here ). The linked article claims "total sales in excess of 200 million across a three-hundred-strong set of kits." I'm curious if that's 200 million set...
