One reason for the lack of ornamentation is because I like to think of this as a fortress. I see fortresses as being dominate and massive without a lot of ornamentation. But, you're right I think maybe some arrow slits might help... however you will not see a lot decoration and ornaments on this cas...

The design of the castle is awesome the landscaping is awesome but it feels like that castle shouldn't be there. Maybe because its a grey stone castle in the middle of the desert... perhaps using more earth tones would have made it seem like that castle was built in that desert with local materials.
