It's very old school.
I like it.
There are a few modern touches I would take out if it were me. A couple of the angled roof pieces. The cow. The cow just confuses me. If the horses are brick built, shouldn't the cow be?

Forestboy, Thanks for the kind words. And yes, I know. :) I've built a whole lot of interiors for this puppy...and didn't like any of them. You should see the to do list. I am hoping we get a larger castle out of this set as well. They look to be a decent size since they don't each have a mandatory dragon and I would like the dark blue pieces to update my dual tower. The largest set, however, doesn't look like it has the mass needed. Shameless plug for Duplo Dual Tow...
