cnelson: I really like your idea of arrows (or a spear) stuck in it. maybe rather then a 1 x 1 round brick you could use a red 1X1 plate with clip (or any other color) to make the injury.
GREAT idea! Perhaps a trail of a few 1 x 1 red tiles behind the creature would add a little to the scene. :)

Nice job!

Speaking of attacks against such creatures, has anyone come up with a good way to show a creature with arrows stuck in its hide? The only thing I've come up with is a 1 x 1 round brick with a 4L lightsaber blade in it, and that doesn't quite look right.

Castle Peregrine Update

I've done an update to my castle gatehouse. The rear sections of the towers now open to provide access, and I've added the mechanisms to raise and lower the portcullises. You can view the changes at: http://www.carlnelson.com/page.asp?SID=1&Page=41 The new pictures start with number 16. Thanks f...

I'll definitely keep going--there's no telling for how much longer, or what other structures I'll make for it, or when I'll run out of light gray bricks! I have what's likely to be my final cut of the wall segments designed. I'll build them soon and see how it looks paired with everything else. Toni...

Thanks for the compliments & the welcome! Formendacil, isn't the only bad side to viewing others' MOCs that I'm never sure what's an original idea and what I cribbed off something that I saw way-back-when? I'll do instructions eventually for the gatehouse. I'll probably do a teardown &...

Thanks! I'm pleased with the cross arrow slits--as far as I know, they're an original design. The only bad thing about them is I have to do them in pairs since they're a half-stud width. I had originally done black 1 x 1 round bricks on the railing posts, and they really didn't give any texture to t...

Castle Peregrine Gatehouse

Hi all-- I've taken a couple of pictures of the gatehouse and drawbridge for my new castle MOC: http://www.carlnelson.com/page.asp?SID=1&Page=41 I've also got a PDF of the instructions for the drawbridge. I'll post the gatehouse ones as I do them (the bridge ones took nearly a full weekend to re...
