Looks like a thief, too! Awesome. It actually reminded me slightly of some of the places in Morrowind/Oblivion. The aqueduct is a cool idea.

Song of Ice and Fire custom minifigs!

I've been working for about a week now on a MOC for the Micro Castle contest but I took a break to do some custom figs. I'm about halfway through reading "A Feast for Crows" for the second time, and I've got the crew from Westeros on my mind. Some Mocs related to these are in the works, bu...

Cool! Once I'm finished with my micro-castle entry, I'm feeling the urge to do a vig and customize some figs. I dig the little soup pot on the bottom floor. I would have loved to see some sort of wooden scaffold inside the rocks.

I like the spattering of flat gray helms in with the shiny ones, it sort of gives your line some three-dimensional depth when you look at them from far away.

Those swordsmen are probably among the best half dozen minifigs I've ever seen. Awesome, man. I'm inspired.

Love it. The knight in the wall is great.

The little 1x2x3s didn't look so hot, I tried them. I noticed the upgrade when they added four or five new minifig heads and the LURPS, but apparently they added a bunch of other new stuff as well. There's a gray tap now that you can actually use and some other minor stuff. I was trying for somethin...

Headed to Legoland Schaumburg, anyone want anything?

Hey guys, I'm taking my kid (and myself) to Legoland, Schaumburg on Saturday afternoon. Anybody want me to pick up anything for them?

I like that Nobleman's Hold a lot. I wonder why so expensive, though? With SNOTted walls, they should be cheaper. Using a lot of 1x1's? Cool wine bottle, I hadn't thought of that.

I went with the black tower and white flags/crenels/walls for a couple of reasons. The gray/dark gray scheme works ok if it's not as monotonous, but with the brick selection it really doesn't work in a large MOC. I wanted as much exterior detail as possible (window frames, door arches, etc). The bla...

Guardhouse (LDD series part 5)

All right, here's my last LDD MOC for a while. It's a proper castle at last. http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Gomur/Guardhouse/guardhouseforum.jpg Size wise, it's larger than Black Falcon's Fortress, but not quite as large as Black Monarch's Castle. It features a gatehouse with two sets of working ...

I just randomly hit the button for "cool creations" in the Lego Factory page, and this MOC was the first thing on the list. I refreshed to make sure it wasn't random. Someone must have noticed.

Now, if I could just do this for a living...

I was just thinking more along the lines of a Wizard's tower, or a medieval jousting festival set that would have both knights and non-combatants.

I'm a little torn on this one. My childhood occurred during the golden age of System castle sets like Black Falcon's Fortress and Black Monarch's Castle, in addition to the forestmen, etc, so I have a lot of that stuff. In comparison, the newer sets are largely fantasy-driven, and heavily involved w...

Agreed. Glad to hear you made it through. I lived through one of those in St. Pete about seven years ago. The water made it right about to the level of our front doors. Scary.
