Sydney BrickShow June 2-3
Hi guys
I'm trekking down from the mountains to attend Sydney's first BrickShow on Sat June 2.
Are there any other Aussies going that would like to meet up?
Cheers
Annie

Re: LOTR and the hobbit lego
Ditto mate. I really think the Urak-hai shield and sword combo is exactly like the movie depiction. The Orc ear pieces are epic. How exciting!Thor wrote:Sooooo glad they got rid of those HORRIBLE oversized Fantasy Swords we saw in castle. Love the new Orcs...and Goblins...

Re: Female Warriors in Feudal Japan
Great find with that link - if it interests you you look a little deeper, you'll find women warriors in most culturesFrank_Lloyd_Knight wrote:I never knew this class of warriors actually existed.
We had a great discussion of it over here when the viking woman warrior was announced in Minifig Series 7.

Re: LOTR and the hobbit lego
9469 Gandalf Arrives Likely refers to the opening of "Fellowship", will probably include Frodo, Gandalf, a cart (vehicle!), and maybe a tree. This is the set in the $12 -15 rangeish, is my guess. 9470 Shelob Attacks ROTK, Minifigs are Frodo, Sam, and (maybe) Gollum. A giant spider is a pr...

Re: LOTR and the hobbit lego
The big debate is going to be on the quiver/long hair/bow all on the back. Is there some new combo of molds that will work together for our minifigs? The thought of it is exciting. This was exactly my second thought after the cheekbones. I wonder if the longbow is clipping onto the quiver? How long...

Re: LEGO Friends line
Also, think of this line as a gateway theme. I believe this line was designed to pull in those who are not currently fans of Lego. I wouldn't be surprised if this line was sold in the girls section and not the Lego section. My friend, I believe thou hast hit it! Well put Username, indeed after read...

Re: LEGO Friends line
With this line, you see TLG trying to incorporate the system bricks in with the girls line. This was not so with Belville, which had a lot of huge pieces that were not really “building” nor part of the system. That is a very good point, at which case I am glad it is not a continuation of Belville. ...

Re: LEGO Friends line
I actually think that a whole line fashioned towards girls like this disappoints me and I find it rude. Lego is about FUN for children of all ages. Why promote segregation of fans?
Plus these figures are tacky and I'm sure girls would prefer just more female minifigs.

Ditto
But on the positives - more dwarves, elves, cool beards, small legs and hairy feet!
