Re: Royal Knight's Castle (Micro Rendition)

This was my first "big" castle set. Nice work on the micro version, and thanks for bringing back those great memories.

Re: I've Updated My Website

Thank you for your comments Aeridian! I have about 60 projects on the site. I've mostly been interested in historical and "realistic" projects. For the past many years I've been researching and building reconstructions of actual castles. I haven't entered any contests recently, but I enter...

I've Updated My Website

For the last few weeks I've begun updating my website: http://www.swroble.com/Castles/Castles.html I began this MOC site many years ago and the HTML was very clunky. I've smoothed out the code quite a bit and replaced many of the photos. I'll be adding some new projects soon. Please let m...

Re: Help with course design - Medieval Science

Congratulations on your new faculty position, Bruce. As a college professor myself, I know the thrill of teaching, as well as the challenges of new course development. I like your topic, it will probably have to be like a humanities course - looking at several different disciplines simultaneously an...

CastleLord.
Don't worry about it, I made that graphic in a 3D software program years ago. I'm just amused that it's found its way to you.

Stephen is still here, although it's been ages since I posted. Still building castles and lurking here from time to time.

I also noticed that CastleLord's avatar looks mighty familiar :D

I've found that a little toothpaste and a soft cloth will restore the shine to a dull brick. It will take off the grime, light scratches and some of the yellowing.

Be careful, because it will remove the printing after about 10 minutes of rubbing.

I don't usually go for customizations but this one is great. I love the gold painted details on the shoulderpad!

A "schalmei", I have no idea what the english word for that intrument is. In english that's called a "shawm". It was supposedly invented in Bagdad. The website that The Shadow Knight mentions http://www.music.iastate.edu/antiqua/instrumt.html has sound files for schalmei and oth...

I am also happy to see the return of some of the classic parts, especially the 3x3x6 corner pieces (which where also in 8813.) I don't like the stone pattern stickers though. Does anyone know if you apply the stickers yourself, or are they applied at the factory?
