I think this set is great and it's nice to see that Lego are finally implementing medieval life into the Castle theme, which I have not really seen since the 90's (apart from medieval market village). I'll definitely buy this set.

I think we can all agree that with the introduction of he Kingdoms line, things are now looking up for the Castle theme.

Viking, sailor, muskateer and painter are the ones for me!

Davee123, I think your diagram is quite accurate.
I think the 1990's saw a slow, unnoticeable, decline; then it really went bad with Knights Kingdom II. The Crownies were a new starting point in the modern world for the theme in my opinion.

I think that the theme will continue right through and will not be replaced because of the Hobbit.
