Re: My first Castle MOC in 7 years! (Work in Progress)

Well, compared to humans, minifigs are a lot wider. For "minifig scale" a door generally has to be four studs wide, but for other scales such as 1 stud= 1 foot, a two- or three-stud wide door would be more accurate. I used to see this discussion a lot on star wars lego forums, since people...

Re: My first Castle MOC in 7 years! (Work in Progress)

I have a question about the scale, the walls made me think of it. Are you using a 1 stud= 1 foot ratio or is it based around actual minifig scale? Or just so it looks right?

Re: MCC V Entry: Kingdom of Light and Darkness

What the long post said about the white castle being over the dark castle was actually exactly what I was thinking, and what I expected too. I was a little disappointed, but the moc is still good.

That is beautiful in its simplicity. The modularity is great and the model just looks nice overall. The uniformness of the roof and walls looks especially good.

Re: Like a rhinestone cowboy...

Saw this on brickshelf the other day and was very impressed. At the time it didn't occur to me that a water wheel shouldn't be in a mine, but now that you've pointed out all the details I think it comes together very nicely.

Re: Weekly Set Review: Yellow Castle

Honestly, this guy's right. All I see it people complain about the new sets and their BURPS and panels and stuff and how unusable they are for building castles... And this set is? Even the new preschool castle set uses more advanced building techniques than this set. Nostalgia really is the only thi...

Re: Weekly Set Review: Knight's Procession

Well the picture is certainly not from when the set was released, it's possible is was accidentally rebuilt for the photograph with a bley helmet. I think it looks bley anyway.

I believe he's saying your 32x32 castle is similar to what he wants to build (dark colors, 32x32)

Simple, but not boring. Looks great, especially with the walls on either side.

Re: Next Best Theme

I grew up loving star wars so the SW lego theme will always be special to me. Same goes for indiana jones, and adventurers before that (mostly the dinosaur theme though, also due to a childhood love of dinosaurs). I also really liked the life on mars sets a few years back, but the mars mission revam...
