I got a good lesson on photography through this MOC. I'm not very good with the picture stuff. My pics are only clear cause my digi-cam auto focuses and has a great close up. Thanks for all the tips.

The pond wouldn't be so deep if I could make the figs taller, but that I can't do. Thanks for the tips on camera angles. I'll retake pics later.

I happen to think that these legs look great. They're compatible with LEGO and high quality. That's what matters to me. If Jeff does mass produce the arms and legs I'll get 'em.

First Vignette: Drunken at the Gate

This is my first vignette. A Black Falcon guard gets a little too drunk at the outer wall. He enjoys a few last moments before the end. Yes some of those figs have stickers(thanks to Mr. Sava), I don't have enough figs. Deeplinks: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Poshwa/Castle/DrunkenAtTheGate/drun...

The gargoyle looks great, but there are a few things that could be improved. If its possible, you can put a joint in the back for it to hunch over and the body seems kind of bland. Other than those two things, it's magnificent. I wish I could build beast type things, but alas I can't.

I started using slopes for landscaping when I got about 500-800 sand green slopes for about 2 cents a piece off bricklink. In the same order I grabbed obout 250 2x2 Dark Gray bricks for 4 cents a piece. I think it was Troy's Surplus store, they had a huge sale. I got over 1200 pieces for about 40 do...

I generally do remove the stray hairs. I guess this one got overlooked.
I find that the sand green works very well with the main castle colors; dark grey, light grey, and tan.

*UPDATED 3/5* In Progress: Round Tower & Gate

UPDATE: I got time to finalize my plans for this project. For now I'm making the outer walls to a walled city. The gate that I made is one of three along the outer wall. There are still many things that need to be done on these parts. Please tell me what you think and how it can be improved. I plan ...

New Article: Avoiding 'Big Gray Wall Syndrome'

I've finally collected enough gray bricks that I feel ready to make a large scale castle creation. I've experimented with a few things and I have a some plans on what to build. The thing that has been keeping me from really getting anywhere is those big grey walls. They look so plain and boring. Eve...

I haven't done shields, but I have done the black armor. Brasso crumbles the armor because of the silvery stjuff beneath the red. I used brillo and both layers came off. The problem is that the plastic loses its shiny finish. I'll see if I can get a pic soon.
