Re: BrickCon 2013 Castle Planning
Don't have anything big, but I'll bring filler stuff for any holes in the collaborative layout.

Re: BrickCon 2013 Castle Planning
Does anyone want to paint my PvC heads for me? I am afraid I won't have time to do it before the con :( Nothing fancy required, particularly for the pigs, since they're already flesh colored. Cows could use some brown paint though, and all of them need eyes done. I can pay for paint and paintbrush ...

Re: BrickCon Castle Planning 2012
A bit of disappointing news: I don't believe I will be able to finish my large display in time. I haven't had enough time to work on it, and I've been busy with many other issues recently that have taken time away from my LEGO projects. The plan right now is to build something smaller, probably a 64...

Re: BrickCon Castle Planning 2012
I have already sent Josh my layout. Basically it will be 4 -32x32 baseplates wide by 6 - 32x32 deep. The front will be a medieval village with each building about 8x8 inches and 12-15 inches tall. The rear section will be forest transitioning into a mountain and bridge with a large Castle Facade re...

Re: BrickCon Castle Planning 2012
I'm working on another castle/fantasy landscape display. It'll be big, bigger than last year's, but it's not going down to the floor this time. (Instead, it'll go UP!) It'll fit fine in a collaborative display, but if we have the same space as before, it'll likely span the whole depth of the tables,...

Re: BrickCon 2012 Collaborative Project: Age of Empires II
I still have the barracks built. I could possibly add some soldiers and background fluff, but nothing else major. I have another big, big castle project that's going to eat up most of my time & parts. How's the layout going to be? Do we need landscaping, or keep it flat and decorate over top to ...

Re: Penny Arcade and Minecraft Cuusoo
I suppose they could cancel CUUSOO, but LEGO is a big company. I wouldn't jump to the conclusion they canceled Kingdoms to make Minecraft sets (And it'll probably be just one set, going by how the system has worked already). I do wish Kingdoms kept going though. Or at least kept it around until the ...

Re: Penny Arcade and Minecraft Cuusoo
We builders work so hard to "de-blockify" our creations with offsets, SNOT, ect. Having played around with Minecraft quite a bit, I will say there are many ways of 'deblockifying' your creations, or at least making them more asthetically pleasing. In fact, I consider that part of the chal...

Re: Brick wall experiment
Saw this earlier, but forgot to comment. The regular pattern makes it all look arranged, which for an ornamental wall, is just fine. I don't know about an entire castle in this style, it seems too loud, but for a small section that demands attention, it'd be great. It might work as a floor too, the ...

Re: MCC contest entry
No comments yet? Odd... I like the flags on the towers, and how you did the drawbridge. It doesn't seem like too many parts to build for real, which is alright. It'd be cool if there was a little more landscape around it, I can't tell if it's a moat or on a lake, but I think the restricted size help...

Re: Valley Keep - MCC entry
I didn't comment on this yet? Silly me...
I love the water, and the 'road' (if that's what it is) crossing over. The castle up on the cliff is great too. It all works together so well, I'm really impressed!

Re: Age of Empires 2 Barracks
Any way to replace the red ridge line with blue since that's going to be the main faction color? I'd need to order some more parts, don't think I have enough in blue. In fact, there's several places where I ran out of a color. Bringing this to SeaLug next weekend? I've got family visiting nex...

Age of Empires 2 Barracks
This is a prototype barracks for the tenative Age of Empires 2 collaborative project , which is still way, way off, but I thought I'd share this anyway. http://farm7.static.flickr.com/6037/6293284160_d9bb2c5fb4_m.jpg And since it's technically a bit smaller than minifig scale, I wonder if it counts ...

Re: BrickCon 2012 Collaborative Project: Age of Empires II
So I tried my hand at making a Barracks, in the 24x24 stud footprint suggested. I think it came out fairly well. Here's a comparison to CastleLord's screenshot: http://farm7.static.flickr.com/6152/6231101220_0388e63b93_m.jpg ---> LEGOify ----> http://farm7.static.flickr.com/6037/6293284160_d9bb2c5fb...
