Re: Linking to CC
I guess you're using some kind of content management system to create the links. If so, the method for creating images with links is specific to your CMS. That's very true - some general things you could try Sir Zeppelin that work with many (not all CMS - that means content management systems, ie t...

Re: What were your first Castle sets
What everones first set (the first castle set they obtained)... Mine was the 375/6075 [Yellow] Castle that my mum bought me one blessed Christmas... :tasty: :spin: I loved it, they were also my first modern minifigs (I'd had the police station with the old style, rigid faceless chaps before that, a...

Re: My first MOC...Where do I get bricks in bulk?
I've never seen any LEGO, loose or packed, in a British charity shop, sadly - and I love them, buy most of my clothes and books from them, I even used to work in one!
I still keep a keen eye out though, just in case.

Re: Andrastavia Gone Forever?
If I got the right URL for the original, some of it seems to be up in the Internet Archive ... full link to the Andrastavia pages = http://web.archive.org/web/*/http://www.ozbricks.com/andrastavia/03optionbarextra2.html . I don't think it's the same ethically as another fan putting it up, they're mo...

Re: My first MOC...Where do I get bricks in bulk?
1. LEGO simply is quite expensive, so maybe scale back your original plans and find intermediate designs you can enjoy until you can build up to what you really want. You could even aim to build a kind of storyline out of it, and photograph each stage, so you're not just wasting time in the intermed...

Re: Watercastle
Thanks for sharing! The only constructive criticism I can think of is, on this image in particular (i=4053382) the bricks aren't tightly packed together, and I can't make out if it's deliberate or not? - I think that's it!

Re: Is Lego evil? shocking revelations!!!
More confusing still is how these old and seemingly bizare topics always get dragged up. Allow me to explain thusly then: new people join all the time. 8) I'm relatively new here, for example, and the person who replied to this in January '10 also seems to have joined recently. :) You may or may no...

Re: temporary goodbye...
Hope you have a safe tour of duty, and that we see you back on here when the time's right! Dx PS fwiw, I'm rebuilding from nothing, having lost all my collection (which was pretty large) when we moved a few times in my late teens, the internet's a godsend for replacing rare/out of production stuff, ...

Re: What's your Lego resolution for the New Year?
Mine is to earn scads of money so I can increase from my current <400 bricks/pieces, and anything after that will be a plus!

Re: Star Trek Lego
I'd love that as well, my space station project (very much a work-in-progress, as I currently have only <400 bricks!) is heavily influenced by Trek TOS & TNG, I love the mix of races and I've got plans for a few groovy non-humans as I build my collection. :) And my castle project is on an alien ...

Sculpey or Fimo to make custom hair?
Inspired by Dyntar's Jack Sparrow, I want to try making some custom hair for my female figs, and I wondered whether Fimo or Scupley is the best choice?
I couldn't find a topic on this already posted, but apologies in advance if it's an old subject round here for most of you!

Re: Want to buy Minifig Hair Ponytail Long # 62696
Aha, it appears that someone beat me to it... never mind, I'll keep looking!!  Dx Edit to add - I've seen a couple of the complete minifigs with that hair, but seems a shame to break up an apparently slightly rare fig just for one thing, and I'm only using the really old style classic f...

The sites you mentioned Count Blacktron are mainly useful for the experienced buyer who knows what she wants ahead of time - this site lays out what figures came with each set easier, or maybe it's just me - anyway thanks Dark Templar!

Re: Lego Gun Arrest
Wow, I mean the guy reporting it obviously had his heart in the right place, and kudos for him for apologising - as a girl-type person, I don't think it ever occurred to my mum to buy me toy guns (which I would have LOVED! ) so I used to make Star Trek-style blasters out of LEGO, often as ...
