Re: Collectable Minifigures Series Two

I went to my local TRU yesterday since I'd called the day before and they said they had a box. When I was there though, they couldn't find it anywhere in the store. It might be a good thing, since they've marked them up to $2.99 apiece! The first wave started out at $1.99, then they upped it to $2.4...

Re: [SW] Theed Diversion

Oooh, I like! Especially the Gian Speeder. So many cool details, like the exterior (and interior) Naboo architecture, to the speeder's shape and firepower, to Panaka's flashing laser beacon. Very nice work!

Re: History of LEGO Cows

I'd have to agree with Josh that the Fabuland cow is second to none when it comes to historic accuracy. Only the best for your moc, right? Sadly, I don't own a single one  I will have to rectify that through Bricklink soon! http://planetsmilies.net/kaos-animal-cow-smiley-6119.gif Cow smilie? Ho...

Re: Collectable Minifigures?

The 3-long bar must also be the piece that comes with the magician as his wand. I agree, that piece will be useful. How I eagerly anticipate these minifigs!

Re: Minifigs or action figures?

http://www.bricklink.com/ML/ww008.jpg I think LEGO moved away from simplicity a long time ago, but I do understand where you guys are coming from. I too dislike the new Boba Fett figure, but I'd say LEGO's been doing a good job with the Star Wars characters (except the Clone Wars, of course) and mi...

Re: Collectable Minifigures?

I'm late to this whole discussion, having only discovered these figs about a week ago, but I've got a question. The forestman has an old-school feather in his hat, which I'm sure a representative from LEGO said were discontinued permanently. Anybody have an idea why they chose to pull this piece out...

Re: Lord of the Rings Characters

Thanks for the comments, guys! Blue Moon Knight , I plan on redoing Aragorn, as that version in the picture is very old. Also, the Witch King does indeed have a sword, one with flames coursing along the length of the blade. Maybe I'll digitally add some to recreate the scene from the book and movie....

Lord of the Rings Characters

Hi everyone; I recently got the urge to take pictures of the Lord of the Rings minifigures I've had lying around waiting to be photographed. Here is the Flickr Gallery and the Brickshelf Gallery when moderated. Hopefully there will be more to come soon.

Re: "Draw me a sheep!"

I'd never heard of that book before; I guess it shows my level of culture. It does resemble the cover art on Wikipedia, so good job there, Steve.

The first faceted gems came in the Egyptian Adventurers sets in 1998. There were only rubies, but light green emeralds followed later in the year with the Ninja line. I can remember salivating over the new ruby piece; at the time the rarity of the piece made it a novelty.

CCCVI Vignette: No Pressure

Late at night, the local blacksmith was hard at work on a new sword which the king had commissioned, when suddenly, a couple of sneaky forestmen arrived. They intend to steal it once the blacksmith is done, but can he concentrate long enough to actually finish? http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/TheB...

I voted for dark tan, as it's one of favorite colors that LEGO has put out recently. I think that dark orange would be a very nice color as well.

Question: Were there any hints/rumors of this spectacular set that I perhaps missed? In this article from last year , Matt mentioned that there would be a "very special item coming at the end of the year" (2008). I remember that there was some speculation at the time as to what it could b...

So this is the surprise that one of the designers of the 2007 Castle line hinted at in an interview last year! As a LEGO castle fan, it goes without saying that this set is a must-buy. The return of the turkey, a wonderful assortment of peasant minifigs, new plume/flame, farm animals, it just goes o...
