Re: building a collection disscusion thread

I use a variety of ways to build my collection. First, I look at what my collection goals are as well as my current projects. I look at what I need to finish those projects. Second, I try to buy sets that provide as many pieces for my project as possible. In the days of money, I'd buy some sets just...

Re: What have you bought from Bricklink/PaB lately?

BrickLink:
- Light blueish grey 2x2x3 slops x 100 (Hoping that will be enough, if not, I'll purchase another 50)

PaB
- Light blueish grey 1x2 bricks x 600
- Dark grey 1x2 bricks x 200

So.... that makes about 1100 1x2 bricks down (including what I already have) ... another 2,000 to go

Re: LEGO Quality Report

I like that Lego is listening and responding, even attempting to fix the issues. However, there are some issues that need to be addressed (IMO). My friend and I have compared some recent sets with older sets, and we're fairly disappointed in quality. For instance, older swords are firm, the newer on...

Re: CCCVIII Mythical Battle - Dragon Raid

I love the angle of the first picture, the action seems to really come alive in that one.

Great job!

Re: Mini-figure display case (made of Lego, duh)

Nice thing is, it can be changed to whatever color to want. The door frames might be limited in the color you select, but you can mix match (red door frame, white bricks, oh yeah :D) Thanks for the comments. I enjoyed coming up with the case. Total cost to build I think comes to around $5 via pick a...

Re: CCC -Miscellanous- Borgund Church

Oh wow! Its funny, the calendar in our office has this church for its picture on November. Its on my list of things to build out of Lego, because the design looks so challenging. Glad to see that someone built it, which means it IS possible. :D

Mini-figure display case (made of Lego, duh)

Hello all. A couple of years ago I started recollecting Lego. Part of the reason was an investment, Lego Jedi were fetching a bunch of money on Ebay, some worth more than the set was even worth on the shelf. Seemed smart to me, the Jedi (or other Lego collectible mini-figures) would offset the cost ...

Re: I want to be this person!

I want 15 castle minifigures for only $5. :(

I'm sure there are some logistics behind this, but why doesn't Lego just re-manufacture whatever set they are missing and add it to their collection?

Re: Help finding an old set

I think this might be it: http://www.brickset.com/detail/?Set=720-1 Instructions: http://www.peeron.com/scans/720-1/ DaveE I am 80% certain that this is, in fact, the set that I was looking for. Or, at least, very similar to it. Though, oddly enough, I remember the ship... bigger, like, 3 times tha...

Re: Help finding an old set

Finding the Lego of my youth would be nice, but finding the time to search is the problem, especially since the family storage unit is a half hour drive in another city. Nonetheless, I need to do it. Perhaps I can even find the ship and, even better, the instruction manual, intact in a box somewhere...

Re: I want to be this person!

Oh, I see. I was under the impression that this was a private collection that they guy was able to see after he had already done a tour of the Lego factory. Still, its a very nice collection; some companies don't even do that. Once its out of print, its gone, and the company forgets it was even made.
