With, of course, monetary prizes for the most accurate. Maybe there can be a category for this in next years' CCC. Then we can bribe admin to rig the competition so Throndor wins. Every year. For all time.RichardAM wrote:We should have a contest for when we think the results are announced.

Re: How do you organize your army?
I use factions as subdivisions, primarily. Rather than shaping the faction on the weapon, I shape the weapon on the faction. I have 10 Crownie spearmen, 10 Crownie longbowmen (LEGO made or my design), 5 Crownie Lancers, 10 Crownie Crossbows, and 5 Crownie swordsmen. Rinse and repeat for all the fact...

Chateau Laroche
This is the castle in Loveland, Ohio that's about an hour and a half away from Cincinnati, 45 minutes from where I live. I've been there several times, and it really is quite cool, but not exactly realistic. It was made by one man who hauled all the rocks (with the exception of when boy scouts came,...

No, I didn't. It's just that the LOTR news on the home page was about a LEGO license of the books/movies. Not about the movie specifically.andhe wrote:Guess you missed the Lego LOTR/Hobbit announcement then?...Throndor wrote:Not sure how this fits in with LEGOs...

Not sure how this fits in with LEGOs, but it is still very awesome. I feel they nailed everyone, especially Bilbo, except Balin, who should be a tad less "nosey" OHOHOHOHOH PUN.

Re: LDD first MOC
Wow, that really is fantastic. For an LDD model especially, considering I am god awful at them. I really like how it isn't just a flat wall; it's an intricate surface; a fortress of solitude, in which a man keeps his most valuable treasures, such as his fortress. "Are you suggesting that my for...

Greatest Medieval Civilization?
England, Holy Roman Empire, Poland, France, Spain, Venice, all great nations. What, in your opinion, is the best of them? Please leave out the Papal States and the Vatican, because they're cheaters. IMO, I suppose England was, because they had the Longbow and the smallest amount of political instabi...

Re: Third Age: Total War
I really like Gondor (really cool stuff, hard to describe) and Erebior. The Elves are cool, but they're hard to get moving.

Re: Mount & Blade: Warband
:) Liam's the one who has the copy I got for $8 at HPB. Anyway, I agree that this game is nothing like WoW, considering the campaign is all AI and there aren't any of those annoyingly redundant fetch quests. Saying it's like M2TW is a stretch, considering you are actually a person, soldiers are not ...

Re: Archers in Front or Behind?
Ah, I see. But what about when you were attacking a city/castle? Range is definitely important there. If you got well within range of the castle, odds are you wouldn't last long, and even if you were able to make a decent volley, you'd probably take more losses than you'd give. That's really how the...

Re: Archers in Front or Behind?
While archers on horseback would be theoretically a good idea, their range was significantly decreased by the lack of movement and size for larger bows while mounted. The Mongolians had success because they had the Recurve bow, but that wasn't really a European thing. Also, archers are fairly cheap ...
