Patience :-)

Good things come to those that wait!

This is the first castle I built - http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=158654 - as you can see I had to populate it with pirates!

This is great Many thanks I'm always a big fan of module systems, I just think they're nifty by default, when executed well, which is certainly the case here See also http://www.mocpages.com/moc.php/9013 Also I like how neat your underground "works" to support the green plates look, I alw...

If you mean the Outer Bailey area, it's where the market place gets set-up and during displays looks like this - Image

Modular Castle - Some assembly required

Having spent almost a year building nothing in Lego - including "missing" my own Lego Show in April - I decided to (over-)commit to five shows/events between now and next April. So it was time to resurrect my Castle Town from the sorting boxes. With many shows to attend, my usual trick of ...

For roads/paths, keep using the "multiple of 8" principle. Roads are 8-wide on plates or baseplates that are some multiple of 8. When a road reaches an edge, there must be some multiple of 8 studs (or zero studs if the edge is only 8 wide) on either side of the road. Thus, an 8x16 plate c...

And is there a way to raise a base to serve as a plate? If by this you mean "can I raise a baseplate on bricks/plates and still have it connected to surrounding parts", the answer is yes. http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/whoward69/LDraw/baseplate.jpg You will need to construct a lattice ...

Re: How do you do it?

Another way to make the MOC look epic is minifigs. The more troops you have, the better it looks. That is what brings the piece to life. The people. Only in Hollywood movies. The standing garrison of Harlech and Criccieth Castles was between 15 and 25 in times of "peace". Harlech was firs...

I've never seen anything like that in a lego castle before.

My three ships had been press ganged for another display, so the dock would have been very empty.

River Castle

River Castle is the lastest evolution of my modular castle town . http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/whoward69/Events/MerristWood-May2006/Castle/thumbnails/castle_00.jpg Ever since a visit to Barnards Castle I've been wanting to do bridge in one of my town setups. However, as this means raising every...

The dark tide wrote:... how do you find these shows?
A good question with no single answer.

The best answer is "through our club" - as the show details and calls for exhibitors get posted there. But how the shows get organised in the first place is a different matter.
