Re: Bricks Cascade 2014 Registration Now Open

We're really excited about Bricks Cascade this year and we hope you are too! Thanks, and keep on building! I can't wait to go and see what the other castle members will be bringing this year! I agree 100%. As we get a little closer to the date, I'll start a coordination thread where people can list...

Re: Updating the CCC Standard - Discussion

Can we move the table-leveling and similar kinds of concerns to another thread? This thread is really about updating the Classic-Castle.com City standard. It IS a problem that needs to be discussed. There needs to be part of the plan and standard that these things are accommodated. Even if that mea...

Re: Updating the CCC Standard - Discussion

On the other hand, what won't work well is what happened at Bricks Cascade where someone wanted to put their 32x32 MOC connected to my display. The different scopes of the two contributors resulted in it looking like his MOC was one of mine and trying to explain to folks was not going to be easy. A...

Re: Updating the CCC Standard - Discussion

CURRENT SUGGESTIONS: - Updated color scheme (primarily, roads as dark tan and trans dark blue as water) - Improved aesthetic (updated photos showing more detailed sections) - More interactive planning process (Google Docs) I agree with all of these. In the Base8 standard, there are specific colors ...

Re: A general discussion of con/event displays

In the end I think it comes down to effort and imagination. For a collaborative display to really work we must fire the imagination to the point where the effort seems worth it. So do you think that having a theme, like the proposed Age of Empires collab, or Game of Thrones, or something would help...

Re: A general discussion of con/event displays

I enjoy the collaborative aspect of conventions as well. I can build stand-alone MOCs and put them online for everyone to see just about any time I want, so it's fun to have the unique experience of coming together to build something with other fans. I definitely would like to have a bit more empha...

Re: A general discussion of con/event displays

I loved the early collaborative displays, but lately, at the cons I've attended, while there have been collaborations among a few people, it seems like the main castle collaboration has just been his stuff next to my stuff next to her stuff. There have been minor attempts to "connect", bu...

Re: BricCon 2013 photos

I won "Best Cowification" but in a cruel twist, later had the trophy retracted when it was discovered that I was not the owner of the prize-winning figures as originally thought. (just messing with you, Josh  ) I still feel bad about that..... Well, I can say definitively that...

Re: BrickCon 2013 SigFig Photoshoot Signups

I will not be there, but I would be honored if someone could build my sigfig, and bring him to Brickcon! http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/mpoh98/Andar-of-Lenfald/1346093222m_splash.jpg Here he is, lots of LOTR pieces. If someone could build and bring him I would be honored! I'll build this tomorro...

Re: BrickCon 2013 SigFig Photoshoot Signups

What is that torso from? I don't recognize it. It's from the old Dark Forest sets, mid '90s. I can build Aeridian's fig other than I don't have the Aztec head for him or hatchet. If nobody else can build him, maybe someone can bring a head for him? Funny, I have the head and hatchet but not the tor...

Re: BrickCon 2013 SigFig Photoshoot Signups

I would love it if someone would make my figure :) http://farm4.staticflickr.com/3692/9364690745_68513e1b93_n.jpg I think you can see all the parts, but... He has a plain reddish brown hood, tan arms, flesh hands, the torso from the lotr rohan soldier, eomer's legs, the head from the legolas figure...
