Re: LCC - Throne Room

The faction leaders don't seem to be very happy with the money, ey? They look like they have paid it to the king, instead of received from the king  But I like the throne room much and the king's sign is very nice! It must be quite a spectacular effect when the light is coming through the sign ...

Re: LotR sets revealed!

Can anyone tell me what the movie Hobbit is about? Is it a continuation of LotR? I don't want to be rude, but have you even tried to find the answer on the internet by yourself? :? For example, on Wikipedia you'll find a page on The Hobbit with all this kind of information in English, Simple Englis...

Re: What's Needed for Cuusoo Success?

I think Cuusoo is not intended to ask AFOLs about what they want at all: it seems Lego uses it as a way to get non-AFOLs interested in Lego again. When those Minecraftplayers buy the Cuusoo-set, they might start to buy other sets as well. At least it's good (and free) publicity in those circles...

Re: Lands of Classic Castle - Discussion Thread

Totally agree with AK. We'd better try to get other people enthusiast for LCC as a whole. I was persuaded to participate by a topic about LCC on the forum of my 'native' LUG, and I know I'm not the only one. I think this works better than using Fraction Recruiters.

Re: How do you organize your army?

It was Maurice of Nassau, prince of Orange (1567-1625) indeed who introduced the concept of the 'contramars' on the battlefield, which made it possible to give constant fire with only 25 musketeers (5x5 formation). His cousins William Louis, count of Nassau-Dillenburg (1560-1620) and John VII, count...

Re: Lands of Classic Castle - Discussion Thread

(...) since walls should be the same color and style (...) Why should they? In real life they aren't either! Whenever the terrain around the city allowed it, cities would build them lighter, lower or otherwise less expensive (or even not at all). Don't forget that walls were extremely expensive, so...

Re: Lands of Classic Castle - Discussion Thread

I don't really like the idea of 'owning' or 'controlling' a city. It makes the game less flexible I think, and thus we shouldn't do it. But if you want a consistent architecture around your buildings, or if you want to make detailed maps of a city, why wouldn't you limit yourself to a certain quarte...

Re: Lands of Classic Castle - Discussion Thread

(...) I think it might be considered that some people want their own architectural designs as part of a certain city. And not everybody builds the same, so a lot of cities would have very different buildings. Which is historically not incorrect... :-P Take the gatehouse for example, one can assume ...

No, you did it right: Falkerby (with the Falkerborg) is in Lenfald area, Ugleheim (with the Ugleborg) is in Garheim.
Thanks!

Re: Greatest Medieval Civilization?

Louis Napoleon was king of Holland, that's true. However, the Kingdom Holland was a puppet state of Napoleon Bonaparte so the Dutch see 1815 as the beginning of the current Kingdom of the Netherlands ;-)
