New MOC: The Forsaken Monastery

I've been neglecting my Lego too much recently but have finally got round to making another creation: The Forsaken Monastery, home to The Banished Monks has stood alone for a thousand years. Visitors are not welcome. http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Reejoc/Monastery/thumb/m01-001.jpg_thumb.jpg http...

Latest MOC: The Belfry in Bruges

This is the first time I've built something from the real world. It took over a month to build with accurate scaled dimensions. It's 5'2" tall and separates into 4 pieces for transportation: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Reejoc/Belfry/thumb/01.jpg_thumb.jpg http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery...

Re: Peligrad Castle finished: Fun with German Neo-Renaissance

This is gorgeous. The towers, half timber work, raised porch-- everything just works, looks good and is well built. ...except for that weird round roof; what's up with that thing? :c It's an eastern european castle, hence the onion dome aka http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/7/70/Church_...

Re: New Black Falcon's Castle MOC

Good architecture. If you have the time it would be easily improved with some more detail in the courtyards, on the battlements and in the rooms

That's absolutely gorgeous! I especially loved that you used all the tree leaf pieces on the hedge maze instead of going with plain green bricks. It really gives it a foliage texture. And the use of the red horns for...rosebuds? chili peppers?...is very imaginative. There're meant to be thorns of s...

And while at that, where do those trans red shields come from? Are they some strange prototype pieces or old space stuff? 1980s space shields, can't remember the exact range The labyrinth is really neat but I think the rest of the landscaping (the rocks) could need some work, it looks a bit too stu...

Good access to the interior and I like the main entrance design.

The corner castle wall pieces work well, but there are perhaps too many of the windowed wall pieces - as your collection enlarges no doubt you can reduce their usage.

Thanks for the comments. The cannon is cool too. Is that a to-scale model for the time period? I'm not sure as to the accuracy of the cannon. I was unable to find many reference images and it seems that medieval cannons varied from being quite stubby to long and thin, like this one . As for the sold...
