1980's LEGO ad

Some of my favorite memories of LEGO were browsing through the early 90's LEGO catalogs and Lugnet's cache of the boxart for sets I was too young to have had the chance to get. The other day I found this and thought I'd share: http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2447/3690321503_9dee419f27_m.jpg (click fo...

Re: SELLING Vladek's Dark Fortress and Advent Calendar

Bump!
Still got the fortress- I can mail that without the box for 100$, all pieces still in bags.
Thanks again!

Re: To SNOT or not to SNOT this is the question:

Good question! Firstly I think the term 'SNOT' should be clarified-- are we discussing techniques that change the orientation of a brick, or the morass of 'tiled all over' MOCs that seem the standard on MOCpages (and the builders who argue against exposed studs in general)? Firstly, I'll say that I ...

SELLING Vladek's Dark Fortress and Advent Calendar

Hello all! Trying to get some quick scratch to hopefully pick up the now-on-sale UCS Falcon and I was wondering if anyone can drop some cash for a MISB Vladek's Dark Fortress or a MISB Castle Advent Calendar ? I'm willing to sell them separately or together to the best (resonable) offer. Sorry, no t...

Re: Gate

I really like the plate-built stonework on the side, though it needs to be integrated a bit better - looks a bit off being framed like that. That would be 'filler' in the walls- random stone and such piled between the brickwork to thicken the walls. It's a cross-section. Where are those helmets fro...

I think the problem is that the vast majority of people think of LEGO as a children's toy. They don't realize most (if not all) of Will's market is teen and adult builders.

Making your own sculpts is hard, but making those swords look good is impossible.

I like your sword!

Got the Jambalaya today! Some neat stuff, though some people's definintion of 'castle' is looser than others- the firemen and police torsos cracked me up.

CVfan13, it wasn't 6037, and now only Rogue27 and I will ever know what it was...

Love it all but that pendant needs to go. It seems like it would be too small to print nicely but even if it would it's too... detailed? for such a LEGOesque design. The lines on the robe might look nicer if they were thicker too.

Great stuff all 'round!

LEGOLand Discount Coupons

Does anyone have any LEGOland coupons or discounts they're not going to use? I seem to remember Brickmaster having a few and maybe you got them through other channels as well. If youve got some and you're not going to need them, let me know, and we could trade or, if you're feeling really generous.....

I dunno... the biggest ship LEGO will give us will still be fairly small, historically. So, Big Imperial Ships, Big Pirate Ships. : )

Good to hear. Other than the new dwarf helmets, that'd be the first ( I think) that'll fit all three- Brickforge, and the old AND new LEGO ones.
