I always thought the Black Falcons' emblem looked like a hawk standing half in and half out of a ray of light. So I still call the faction the Black Falcons, but in my family the emblem itself was always referred to as the Rayhawk symbol.

In thirty years of collecting, the only problem I ever had was a train bogie plate arriving from Shop@home with the pin slightly melted. No idea how that happened, but they replaced it right away.

I think one mistake a lot of Lego fans make is to think about set prices only in terms of the manufacturing cost of the parts inside. Molding that plastic is a big factor in how much a set costs to produce, but it's not the only factor, and in some cases I think it's not even the major factor, depen...

Thank goodness for the admins over here keeping on top of things. I was a little surprised to see Troy come back here and paint the C-C crowd with the same brush as he used over at Lugnet, but man am I glad he's stepping up to the plate. I think any of us who've been around a few years have seen wha...

Alternately, you track where the shot lands and damage everything within a certain distance of the impact point. Splatter damage, you know.

But if I find one, do I get a chance to inherit the company? Because that would be sweet! But you also run the risk of being turned into a blue brick or attacked by Lego sorting squirrels... I would also be satisfied with either of those results. How cool would it be to be the guy who got tur...

I was never much a fan of Blockland, but there was another group at GDC this year with a very cool "Lego - like" MMOG - check out http://www.roblox.com .

I listen to a lot of podcasts, since I spend hours or even days at a time sitting in front of the computer when I've got a painting deadline to hit. I'd love to have more Lego podcasts to add to the mix. I even thought about trying to make one of my own, but I think there are clauses in my contract ...

Glad that was cleared up. Otherwise we would have some sort of Wonka frenzy looking for those Gold tickets. I'll bet it wouldn't be tough to detect the weight difference between a set with a regular fig and a solid gold one. But if I find one, do I get a chance to inherit the company? Because that ...

Does anyone know what these little brass weapon ornaments are actually used for? I bought a couple of sets very much like these while shopping in downtown Los Angeles - the shafts are too thin for minifigs to grip, but after wrapping them with a carefully-measured amount of gaffers' tape they fit pe...

Hee hee, I just found a whole shelf unit of VDF's at a one-day sale at Goodwill on Saturday. I grabbed as many as would fit in my car.

For $22, I think Vladek's Dark Fortress is a very fine set indeed.

I'm working on compling the results into Brickshelf so you can view them all. Will add to later. Aw, that takes all the mystery out of it. As I recall, the test-building system on that site is limited to 30 possible result categories based on scores in four areas. The minifig test divides between N...

Can't believe I didn't mention this thought initially. The antlers should be a form of plumage with the ability to attach to old pointed visors and DM helms. I need my stag lord to be distinguished from his knights after all. Not to be anti-classic, but I'd rather have them fit into Viking helms. T...

Dislikes : I hated the storyline. I think is violates the whole essance of lego, which is the openness of it. It is suppose to inspire creativity, and imagination, but with such a binding storyline, it defeats the purpose. I totally felt the same way. Even while I was working my brains out trying t...
