I'll echo the comments that many of the pieces seem cheap. Oddly though, not all of them are. The Sumo Wrestler's hair, for instance, feels and looks like good old fashioned Lego to me. The same for the Fisherman's hat, fish, and fishing rod. His beard is fine, but it's intentionally the more rubber...

A very good start. You've managed to get a decent-sized, cohesive-looking castle with relatively few parts. I like how you used that baseplate sideways from its normal orientation. I would like to see the interior fleshed out a bit more though; right now it's looking rather sparse.
