Well done!
My father is a mechanical engineer and when he was added to the rolls of the association he was given a ring supposedly made from the steel of a bridge that had failed as a reminder of his responsibilites. Do civil engineers have a similar tradition?

Re: Updating the CCC Standard - Discussion
With discussion dying down perhaps we could get a sense of how people are feeling about adapting any of the proposals? Please provide a quick yes/no/maybe to each so we can see which, if any, require further discussion. Are you in favour of revising the colour standards (still needs tweaking)? Are y...

Re: Is it me, or did Flickr just change again?!?!?!?!
Yikes! They've taken away notes. WTF??!? That was a dumb idea. Also, the fact that you have to click several times just to see comments and/or the photo description is incredibly annoying and time consuming when going through multiple photos. Hmmm, I wonder if they are still monkeying with that beca...

Re: Is it me, or did Flickr just change again?!?!?!?!
Actually I am kinda liking the new layout. Once I figured out where things were. I do have an issue with the NOTE option. I cannot see how to add NOTES and that was a key feature for me.

Re: BrickWarriors New Products
Helmets are good and the shields are great - perhaps the most realistic Republican-era shields ever seen. I have to disagree on the gladii however. The broad leaf-shape was not a feature of the gladius in either late republican or early to mid-imperial times as far as I know. It looks more like a sh...

I would say Robin Hood. Probably more to do with Errol Flynn's version than any actual historical figure ...

Re: Updating the CCC Standard - Discussion
... I can connect one of my sections to a Cafe Corner building (from Lego, from Operation Bricklord, or whatever else uses that standard)... LOL it is from doing a lot of MHS (Cafe Corner) layouts that I discovered that we don't need the pin connections. We do some sort of "street scene" ...

Re: Updating the CCC Standard - Discussion
The buttress at the end probably should just be 1x2 slope, otherwise two adjacent 2x2 slopes will be awfully wide. The other option is to suggest there NOT be a buttress at the end. Actually, no matter what the standard is, joining wall sections that are very different in style may look odd. Well, ...

Re: Updating the CCC Standard - Discussion
OK, I should have tried to build a section before describing it above. I was a little off in the description. Here is a sample module. One end is open for connection to an adjoining moat module and the other end has been closed in to join with a (new) plain module. http://farm6.staticflickr.com/5514...

Re: Updating the CCC Standard - Discussion
I would like to propose two major changes to the standard and one new minor substandard. Wall Module Setback I think we should make the setback match the Base8 standard and have the wall sections shifted so that the inside of the wall sits on stud 11 and the outside of the wall sits on stud 14 when ...

Hmmm interesting points. Must ponder...
Quick thought: colour palette is not really specified so perhaps that is a decision for coordinators (ie. this year is a desert-theme, tan walls/sand and dark tan roads).

Re: A general discussion of con/event displays
I loved the early collaborative displays, but lately, at the cons I've attended, while there have been collaborations among a few people, it seems like the main castle collaboration has just been his stuff next to my stuff next to her stuff. There have been minor attempts to "connect", bu...

Re: Isildur's Helmet
I mostly love the cape but for some reason the shoulders look "wrong" to me. The way they extend over the shoulders may look natural on real capes but for some reason I want my LEGO capes to be more like the old solid ones that did not extend all the way out over the shoulders.
