That isn't a question that I can answer simply except at any given moment. If I suddenly feel a lack of foliage, I might try and corner the market on leaves. If I'm trying to build my biggest castle yet, I might want to pig out on gray bricks. It all depends on the given project, or a really good de...

I repainted some of the KK2 armors bronze and use them as hoplite cuirasses: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/corsair/Castle/RubNBuff/arubnbuffhoplite2.jpg They are so plentiful that I can have a seperate set of foot knights and mounted knights. I don't particular like putting them on my medieval h...

In any event. . . I'm looking forward to Eragon. I've never read the books, myself -- but I always enjoy a good fantasy/medieval flick. And I don't even mind if it's cheesy. I mean, Conan the Barbarian was cheesy. BeastMaster was cheesy. Cheesy can be good. We'll see. At the very least, it should -...

The only reason why I knew it was supposed to be a balrog is because it said so. On the other hand it was appropriately colored to be a creature of flame and shadow, and at least it properly did not have wings (if they weren't metaphors, falling into a chasm would be the least of its worries). But t...

What can you say? It's a competitive world. I presume that after a year of doing business with Flextronics, LEGO is satisfied with their production quality. I doubt any saving will be passed along on any short term basis - my bet would be that they will want to move out of the red and into the black...

In no particular order: The Ice Slaughter, from Sergei Eisenstein's masterpiece, Alexander Nevsky. Great imagery, and even appropriate to Castles. Thermopylae, from 300 Spartans. Yeah, I know, not particularly sophisticated by today's technology, but at least the units formed up instead of the screa...

Whereas I have always been tempted to illuminate in LEGO the ultimimate showdown of who was the dominant member (carefully keeping a straight face) of Trimurti from Hindu mythology - of which I can only say that I don't have enough yellow 1x1 rounds (or should that be 2x2?), and that I can't say any...

Hmmmmm. I'd fill in the central groove. Then file away at the area below the shoulders to creat a visual seperation between chest and shoulder pieces. Then I'd cut grooves just below the chest to give it a separation of chest plate and belly pieces. Probably round out the lower half to give it bette...

I still want someone to comment on their seige technology! It was amazing! They created it so fast and in large numbers that they could batter down chinese walls quickly. Oh, and you people mean to say that the English could defeat the Mongols on land!?!? You are clearly out of your mind. The Engli...

But, the Mongols decisively defeated the Russians, Polish, Teutonic Knights, and the Hungarians. I don't think it is a giant assumption to say that they'd defeat the French and English too. The only reason why they didn't was internal Mongolian politics. I already laid out the scenario for the Mong...

Rules to live by: 1. Buy low, sell high! 2. Keep my hands to myself! 3. Sacred Cow makes the best hamburger! 4. Rules are made to be broken. Translations: 1) buy LEGO on deep discount, then sell it once the market thins out and the price goes back up. 2) Touch not other's LEGO. 3) Modify anything, e...
