Spammers

I was just wodering if this is coincidence or what. There have been spammers ever since I joined C-C. However I have never seen them actually make a post. The most recent two have made posts regarding what they are trying to sell. Is this coincidence or do they now have some way of having a computer not only join the forum but post in it?

Yup, its all automated. They aren't actually people, per se.

The posts are usually deleted pretty quick, which is probably why you haven't seen them before.

Sadly it hits almost any forum or website so its not unusual. We have gotten such things on many forums I have been to.

Some forums I'm on has a post limit (like 3 or 5) before you can post URLs. I've never had reason to use it myself, but from what I've heard it's supposed to help a lot.

Aww but then you couldn't go "Hi I'm new here, these are my MOCs: link"

Stop advertising, Aliencat!

Yeah, none of these spammers are actually real people. On some of my forums, we got 1500 posts of the same thing, which proves it was a spam bot. I mean, we were cleaning up for a month.

These posts are deleted pretty quickly, so they are nothing to worry about. (Unless there porn, in which case, just don't look at the post).

Yeah and most of these bots aren't specified to "know" what kind of forum their target forum is. So the posts placed here by spam bots will pretty much never be Lego-related.
Classic-castle is a Lego related forum, and you come here for Lego or castle related stuff, so if you see a post that has nothing to do with either, and just talks about cheap deals and travel deals and videos of the girl next-door, just don't click the links.

But the stuff on there is really cheap!
