Problem...Big Problem

Post by Napoleon »

Everytime I try to post, if I go below the writing box length, it jumps back up to the top of the post when I press one letter. Every letter, it jumps back up, and it makes it almost impossible to write longer posts. I wondered if anyone else has this problem, and if so, when it will be fixed.

Thank You

I just tested it and I'm not having this problem. I would also be curious if anyone else is.

Aw, man! It's always me. It happens to me on both my laptop and family desktop. :( I hope it goes away.

Finally, someone who shares my pain! I've been having this problem too, and it's annoying me. Anymore, I don't have the ambition to make long posts, due to this problem. It can't just be my computer, since Napoleon & Josh both have the problem. Does anyone have any ideas?

I seem to remember having the same problem on some forum or other (not sure it was here).

Whatever it was, it seems to have resolved itself.

What system are you running on your computer? Maybe you need an update to your browser?

He's onto something... maybe you should indicate your operating system, browser, and versions of each in your posts, so other members with the same configuration can test/validate this problem.

I was having this trouble a couple of months ago but it just stopped so I assumed it was just a hiccup in th phpbb system.

I used to have that problem too, but now it is gone. Another problem that i had was when i typed something, it took way longer wfor it to show on the screen then typing it, so i had to wait for a few seconds after every sentence to see if everything was written correcly. I foun out this was caused by my laptop's energy preserving mode, and when i switched it to a different mode the problem was gone. That problem is in fact gone now as well, but if you have a laptop you could try if the energy mode maybe is causing this too.

Type your long posts in word, and then simply copy/paste to Classic-Castle.

Great advice! I just thought of this last night, and was going to post it today! I don't know about Word, but I have Open Office, I suppose that would work.

I would bet you that it's the not the Forum, or the browser you are using, but a combination of the two.

What browser are using? Version number?

I use Firefox 3.5.8 - in general I've never had problems with this in the last 7 years. :)
Knight Templar
n. pl. Knights Templars or Knights Templar
1.A member of an order of knights founded about 1118 to protect pilgrims in the Holy Land during the Second Crusade.

Out of curiosity, could you tell us what operating system and browser you are using?

I can see it happen here aswell (IE 8.0.6001.18702) on Windows XP Professional
What I have just tried is make a message where I don't use the <enter> key inbetween sentences and let IE wrap the text in the input box, this seems to cause the problem here on my side. When I use <enter> after each sentence, then I seem to be able to generate a message that runs way out of the input box, without the strange scroll/jump behaviour. Maybe this helps in finding/solving the problem.
