wow... I forgot this thread even existed... hope all has been going well since it was posted.
The admins should not avoid enforcing rules, especially to resist the armies of Internet's barbarians. Our forum must be structured, organised, rigidly controlled. For that to be achieved, the admins must enforce rules, the laws of forum.
If the rules won’t be enforced, our forum will degrade to the level of other forums, that means drowning in spam, being attacked by advertisers (the newest member is an advertiser, be the way), being involved in violent and rude arguments, and so on.
