Leak policy

Hi all,

We are once again into the "leak season" and as a result, we need to have a discussion of policies. LEGO has published a policy regarding leaks and Classic-Castle also has our own leak policy. I'd like to point out that there are places where those policies overlap, and also places where they do not.

Most importantly, we recognize that LEGO has a right to expect respect of non-disclosure agreements and the like, and so we will not publish any images with "Confidential" watermarks. In addition, we ask you not to provide links to places where someone can find such watermarked images, or even give hints as to how someone can find them. We will remove any such images, leaks, or hints if they are posted in the forum.

On the other hand, our policy does not state that we will "notify the LEGO Group" if we see watermarked images, and we will not encourage you to do so. Also, we are not part of the marketing division of LEGO, and so it is not our job to maintain "control of WHEN and WHERE a product is launched, HOW it is launched, and in which quantities and volumes." Our policy notes that there are "legitimate leaks", which may or may not have been the plans of the marketing gurus at LEGO, but we have always seen those as fair game.

You know, if the National Security Administration can't keep their information secret, Lego is doomed...
