Jake Needs You!

A message sent to me from Jake - You guys know what to do!!
All,

I need your help!

One of the reasons the LEGO Community Development team supports (and
convinces colleague to support) the AFOLs is because of their amazing
power as brand ambassadors. They carry the LEGO message and brand to all
corners of the world, especially in smaller markets that TLC isn't able
to cover.

As we near the end of 2004 (already?!?), I am starting to look at what
happened, how things went this year, and what the plans for next year are.

But one of the things I really need is a comprehensive list of ALL the
media coverage that AFOLs and AFOL events generated this year. That
means every print, TV, radio spot. Ever magazine article, every TV
interview, you name it.

Can I ask your help, and ask each of you to collect this from your
respective communities? It can be in any format (an email directly to
me, a Word document, a newsgroup post, you name it).

Thanks in advance!
Jake

I already emailed it to Jake, but I like showing off ;)

Here's a newspaper clipping from the spring TEXLUG meeting of 2004.

Hello!

Sorry, but what does that help? You won't be able to buy next year's sets now anyway...

(And yes, I now it was meant funny, but the core of your comment I still don't understand. In fact I've been hearing this pleading for infos and pictures of the following year's new releases for four years now, and I still don't understand why it's asked.)

I agree with Jojo. I don't need to have advance information about upcoming sets. Furthermore, Jake is helping us with this very request. From what I understand, the purpose of this request is to show the Community Development Team all the exposure we (AFOLs) generated for Lego. That helps us, not Jake. I wish I had some information to pass on to him.

Sorry for the rant.

Build On,
Josh

Does Jake need info on USA or North-Amercan evends only, or is his request worldwide?

The succesfull double worldrecord attempt in Albergen, the Netherlands drew nice media attention, they succeeded in braking both the official record for tallest LEGO structure (set to 27,7 meter) as wel as the official record for longest LEGO structure (set to 1.383 meter), an both within a single event.

LEGOWORLD 2004, still the largest and most visited LEGO event worldwide, got coverage by nationwide television networks, and there was even international interest in the event: a camera team from the BBC came over from the UK to visit us.

With friendly greetings, M. Moolhuysen.

Moom - send it to him. Jake meant all news, globally.

BTW, Those feats sound pretty cool! Any chance of having a link to the pictures, etc for those of us that were ignorant of their occurance?
