Censorship!

Post by Dragon Master »

Hey what's megablocks going on guys!

This post isn't about complaining over the CCC censorship policy. I believe you guys have 100% right to do so!

But can you guys (the admins) tell which megablocks words we type? Or do you see MEGABLOCKS no matter what.

I was just curious!

megablocks megablocks megablocks crap!

It can't be the Admins, can it? I mean, they are the picky kind who would transmogrify the curse words correctly: Mega Bloks. Two words, no "c". I mean, they finally got me typing LEGO in all caps, I'd hate to have a reason to relapse. :D

Edit in: Alright - I have trained myself to write "dang" and "heck" (In The Far Side fashion) so I really thought people were typing "megablocks" since nothing I wrote got auto-translated. Typing in their less acceptable variations that I normally self-censored out (Megablocks and Megablocks) renders the words incorrectly to "megablocks". Or maybe that is intended as a further sign of disrespect (after all, this is a site for all our LEGO - not Mega Bloks - castle needs)! :D

But it's Mega Bloks if you are refering to That Other Company. If I have to put up with lectures about LEGO and not Lego, back at 'ya! 8)

This is a good thing, Master Dragon Master.

If you had a different LEGO swear for every normal swear, you would not be censoring, you would be encoding. All it would take is to learn which swears become what.

It is often all too easy to figure out what someone is using from the word's context in the sentence. I see no need to offend innocent and/or moral ears/eyes any farther by making the decoding that much more obvious.

If you want a greater variety of LEGO swears, type them in yourself. It doesn't turn Shifty-brick, Tyco, Bestlock, or any other clone brand into Megabloks.

And I would like the admins to know, in case I wasn't quite clear enough, that I, at least, support the current policy.

Your missing my point. I never said I wanted different words, I just wanted to know if the censord words showed up uncensord when your are logged on as an admin.

I see Megablocks in the forum, but if I go in to modify a post I see the original text.

Oops....

Got it.

Must have been reading too fast.

Still, I hope my point was taken.

Yes, it was. having different words for each swear would defeat the purpose of having censorship!

This is very interesting! At first, I didn't get what DM was saying. Now I do; it’s good to know that swear words are automatically changed to "megablocks".
