In scanning through Brickshelf for the article just posted, I ran across this gallery that I had forgotten. Scott Runyan has an ongoing project to create a gallery sorting minifigs into their respective themes. Here is the castle section. As with any such project this is constantly going to be out of date--I note that he has no KKII or Harry Potter from 2004, but he does have Spiderman from 2004.
