Hey there,
Check out this thread for a discussion of titles. On about page 8 of that thread you'll get a listing of the ranks that were known at that point.

Hey... speaking of which... I just made foot soldier! Small for you big-timers, I know, but it's nice to be doin' something other than shovelin' in the latrine or planting seeds all day.
Would it be cool if we (classic-castle) had avatars for each title? I think people like to do their own personal touches, so maybe not, but then again, it might be a cool thing for people who can't make avatars or who have no idea what some of the titles are (gong farmer )
Just thought I'd throw the idea out - I'm much too lazy for such an endeavor.

Foot soldiers are those to get killed first in a battle. Have a nice day! :-)ottoatm wrote:Hey... speaking of which... I just made foot soldier! Small for you big-timers, I know, but it's nice to be doin' something other than shovelin' in the latrine or planting seeds all day. ;-)
Exactly. It wouldn't be a bad thing, though, if there was a default avatar for each rank plus the possibility to add your own instead.Would it be cool if we (classic-castle) had avatars for each title? I think people like to do their own personal touches, so maybe not

This is just the sort of nonsense up with which I will not put.

Hey ottoatm,
I think the consensus among the admins at the time was that we liked the individual touches (for an example par excellance see how Jojo's avatars have changed as his ranks have increased*, or the various holiday-themed avatars people created). At one time I did make a series of small accessory icons as potential avatars, matching the tool to the job (shovel for gong farmer, pick-axe for laborer, lance for knight, etc):
Here are the rest.
If any Classic-Castle member wants to grab one of these as an icon, feel free to do so.
Bruce
*BTW, Jojo, are these all in a folder somewhere? I can't find them on your website, Brickshelf gallery, or your My Images gallery.

Dang! You're quick. I posted that, then read one other thread, then noticed that you had already used one of the icons. Glad you like them. I occasionally stick one in a post, but very rarely remember to do so.

That's nifty. Those tools are expressive enough to match the respective rank, yet not overly detailed. Still it should be possible to make these avatars part of the ranking system, so they changed automatically. I guess, though, that's not possible with this forum system.Bruce N H wrote:At one time I did make a series of small accessory icons as potential avatars, matching the tool to the job (shovel for gong farmer, pick-axe for laborer, lance for knight, etc)
The little avatars are not online anymore. They are uploaded to classic-castle.com, so when I change my avatar the old one probably disappears. Or maybe the old ones are stored somewhere where they are not accessible for me. Anyway, since they are my personal touch I wouldn't want them to be used by others.....Jojo, are these all in a folder somewhere? I'd like to see the evolution of your avatar-fig.
Might be interesting.

Hey Jojo,
I'd also love to see you make a gallery to contain all of your variations on the BF guy. I'm sure that no-one here would grab them to use as an avatar without permission (especially since we would all recognize them as yours and change them).

LOL - fair point... nothing like being cannon fodder... Actually, after seeing the shovel, I think it would be funny to be a Gong Farmer again... LOL - that's great - cool avatars.Foot soldiers are those to get killed first in a battle. Have a nice day!
