Hidden question

Post by footsteps »

Okay, I've been wondering about this for a long time, and now I've decided to ask the question. When I come in to the main forum page, there is a little stat line at the bottom showing how many people are currently signed in to C-C. There are three types: Registered, Hidden, Guests.

The first and third ones are pretty self-explanatory. But my curiosity is piqued: What does "Hidden" mean, when refering to people on the site???? And why are they 'hidden'? Are they embarrassed to be on a Lego website?

Enquiring minds want to know.

Hidden means that they're members but their names won't show up on the list of present members browsing the site.

A "Hidden" user is a Registered user who for one reason or another has opted not to appear online. Whether or not you appear when you're online is set by the second of the "PREFERENCES" under your profile.

Hmmm, I hadn't realized that was an option. Thanks for responding, guys! Now I know.

Oh, really? I guess I've been hidden and I didn't even know it.
