Haha, Darkie has a point there. But who knows, Admins have their own twisted minds.

I see!!! That would explain my title Sir Postsalot. I kinda think it is funny. But I do like it because it is unique. I am waiting for it to disappear though. :)

Hmm... I can understand your point... although I have a feeling it comes from bringing back to life threads like this one... :)

 That's great.

I'm actually kinda glad someone dug this up. Are the ranks this in the rules and guidelines? I don't remember. Last time I looked at them seriously was when I was signing up (I've scanned them for other questions and what not since).
Anyway, I was wanting to take a look at the ranking, and now I have been able to.

It's not like I go looking for old threads, simply to reply to them. I respond to any topic that I find interesting at the time, and sometimes that topic may have been I missed in the past.

I also look in the various categories and find the thread listed there - that is how I actually found this one.

Occasionally I do a search for a topic that I am interested in (I guess that is why there is a search facilities on these forums). And as you can tell I am not afraid to add my opinion or comment.

I think I have explained myself enough (I am off to read another thread) :)

Generally its good to take a look at the post date. Certain posts like weekly reviews are probably ok to drag up, but others are far too outdated. By dragging them to the forefront, you knock down issues and topics that are relevant now. Some of the issues that are dragged up have already been discussed to death, and others have been compeletly resolved.

Conversely, new topics and MOCs stand a greater chance of going unnoticed by posters who aren't checking these boards daily. When a bunch of old topics jump to the top of the threads, we stand a good chance of missing out on a new topic. Nobody is suggesting you can't discuss older topics, or that it is wrong to bring back an old thread. Just try and be a bit more selective.

Thanks Blueandwhite

You have explained the situation very well. I will definitely be following your advice, as it makes perfect sense.

You know, I am beginning to understand the culture of these online forums a bit better, and even though we are here to discuss Lego related issues, there is definitely a few underlying issues, which never really get mentioned. So thank you for being up front with this information.

Blueandwhite puts it perfectly.

(And g2, I was just giving you a hard time in the other thread -- no malice intended -- which I'd say there but I've already hit my yearly allowance of off-topic Posts of Incredible Embarrasment this week, so I'll say so here instead.)

Thank you BlueandWhite. I am very enthusiastic, as I made a promise to myself (a new years resolution if you like) that I will be more active and prominent in my Lego hobby. One of these acts of prominence was to contribute to any online forums and/or chats that I belonged to.

Thanks Dunechaser. No malice was taken, but I was feeling a little un-loved. :) But now that I am little bit more clued in, on the protocol of these forums, I should be fine.

Nice. You have managed to take something that was a subtle hint, and turn it around into a proud banner. :D BTW, I like you Avatar, what did you use to make it?

So here I am doing something that grates against the very fibre of my being. I'm bringing back to life a dead thread.

However, in my defence, I would like to say that I have a reason for doing so. This thread is about the ranks associated with the number of posts you have. I decided in the interest of people who have joined in the last couple years and have not seen this to redo the list with to be as accurate as possible. It follows:

0-9: Gong farmer
10-24: Serf
25-49: Villein
50-74: Peasant
75-99: Freeman
100-149: Laborer
150-199: Apprentice
200-249: Foot soldier
250-299: Artisan
300-349: Bailiff
350-399:Archer
400-449:Journeyman
450-499:Reeve
500-599:Steward
600-699:Squire
700-799:Gentleman
800-899:Man-At-Arms
900-999:Landlord
1000-1199:Councilor
1200-1399:Merchant
1400-1599:Sheriff
1600-1799: Master
1800-1999: Justiciar
2000-? This remains to be seen. I will update it if and when someone gets here without a custom title.

This was from Formendacil's post, and presumably could be true. But I hesitate to say for sure.
2000-2399: Knight
2400-2799: Knight Bannerett
2800-????: Baron

Now I need to say something for the ears of all who read this. Making posts just to get a higher rank is A BAD THING! And you will get in trouble if you do it. These ranks are merely here for a bit of fun and to add a touch more medieval air to things. I only make this post now, as I said, to help any who may be curious and didn't already know.

So, was it ever answered, at what point do you get a special rank, such a s Josh's "Chevalier de Chevre"?
