Okay now legarisk is a spammer. This must be the third time this week! :evil: How much more will there be?

Let's just hope this is spamming season and it will go out soon. Still it is fun to play "hunt the spammer"

Maby with the rise in spammers there should be a new user group? The spaming patrols.

They could have deleting powers, but only for spammers. With the rise in spammers and pornographers this would be a rather important group to have. Three spams in a week? We need to do something. Band together draw your swords wax your bow strings and fight the evil until the last man.

I don't know if minors are allowed to be in user groups. In any circumstance it would probably be better if anyone in such a group had at least 1000 posts. It would be fun though to nuke every spammer in my path!

You obviously have not been at CC for a long time. Multiple spammers have been a part of CC forum activity for the past several years. As the site became more popular and well known, spam increased. The only solution to eliminate most spam would be to individually approve each member before they could post. Even with this precaution, a spammer could join and post spam before we delete them.

In most cases an admin or mod spots the spammer and quickly removes their post. Later an admin deletes this user and bans their email domain and sometimes their IP address. Currently this is the best solution unless we made the site more like lugnet where it is hard to join. This would discourage many people from initially joining Classic-Castle.com

Moderators are chosen from long time members who have shown great leadership. This is not a power we would give away to members who just joined. If you want to have a conversation about dealing with spammers please pm an admin or talk in chat instead of cluttering up this thread. Thanks!

I think the mods already do that, we are like peasants and they are like knights. Except they probibly more or less own the spammers considering all they have to do is press a button... :twisted:

Please don't do that. I still haven't been able to rejoin lugnet... and don't really want to bother anymore since it was such a pain the first time.

Looks like we've got another one, two in a day, sad. This one apears to be spammer, so not as bad. I of course speak of MadsMick. Again a seller of the most disreputable medications.

Hey is it just me or are both MadsMick and GeorgeBrownA the same person. They have links to the same website. What's up with that?

Sorry for the dubble post but,

Qwertydaa is also a seller of disreputable medications. Three bad guys in as many hours, let's just hope that this is a bad day and not a forshadowing of the future. He hasn't made a thread but their is no point keeping a profile around that is all about spamming, the same can be said for MadsMick.

I'm going to guess our newest user "cheapdrugs" is a spammer... Just a guess mind you...

The next newest user "chaotic nipple" also has potential to be a spammer... This one could go either way though...

You know what's sad? We have 1497 registered users, several of whom could still be spammers in disguise or have gone unchecked, and yet the newest member of our forum is number 2134, since numbers are not reused even if a member is deleted.

That means the admins have deleted 637 memberships from our forum, 99.9% of which were spammers.

Sigh.
