I don't think it matters.
Think about it - Lego is constantly producing new sets. Almost every set features colours and pieces from previous sets, so your existing collections of colours and pieces will constantly be expanding. The chances of Lego ever producing a set that contains only new colours is nigh on impossible - we will pretty much always be getting existing colours/pieces with every set we buy. So I don't think this is a big deal.
