The Old Sharks
The Old Sharks
remember the old sharks that were arround?
These things?

I still have a few, but I also think that lego should bring them back. After the aqua raiders sets I remember finding that none of them had the cool sharks. All of it is brick made. Who else agrees?

Yeah, because of my interest in pirate sets when I was a kid, I now have loads of the old dark gray sharks. I only have one saw-nosed shark, one crocodile and no dolphins, rays, squid. I never liked those as much as the original sharks in the pirate series. It would be nice seeing those again in some new sets yeah.
Re: The Old Sharks
Yes I remember them! They were around in 95 when I first began to buy LEGO. It was good to see the aqua raiders come back from the depths of the sea (metaphor intended) but I haven't got any of the sets though I indeed to sometime. I really like the brick shark because its big and seems to be done well, at least from the pictures. It will be really awkward for TLC to introduce a big plastic shark so I guess thats why they made it from bricks.Blue Head wrote:remember the old sharks that were arround?

I agree, the ocean is so vast, TLC can easily introduce some wierd looking fishies.
I agree, a little more variety, but the sharks also swim with the fishies. Reintroducing the shark (to me) would still be awsome. Rays also would be great ((because) I only have one).

I'm a big pirate fan, so I have a few dark grey sharks. However, I'd prefer to get more in old grey than for new bley ones to be released.

Yeah, or Bricklink (from first hand experiences, legos like the cafe corner shouldn't be trusted with ebay.) Ebay is great, though, for thinks like swords and small things. (I think I might actually try ebay for the rays, thanks for the idea!)Donut wrote:There is always ebay !Blue Head wrote:I agree, a little more variety, but the sharks also swim with the fishies. Yeesh. I wish I had dolphins... If you weren't already swimming in sharks (heh heh), I'd offer to trade for a dolphin or two.Count Blacktron wrote:I'm swimming in sharks, saw-nosed sharks and dolphins. All of them in old grey shades. No new bleys out there. We could use some variety under the sea.

I thought that was a good thing.Blue Head wrote:All of it is brick made.
I may be in the minority, as I possess a surfeit of sharks, but I always preferred brick-built animals. If you don't want a shark, it doesn't have to be a shark. Old sharks, well, they're pretty much stuck being sharks.

I have four or five dark grey sharks, one white one, one light grey saw-nosed; two rays (but one's missing, and has been for a long time); and three to five octopi.
Now, while I love these, I personally think that a brick built shark is much more reusable; except, of course, when they built from lots of really long curved slopes. Some new molded sharks in bleys would be nice, but brick-built is, somewhat unfortunately, better (if uglier).

Edit: I forgot, my sister has white dolphin that I can use if I want to... but like the others, it's really only got one use.

Learning French.
Say it "ESS-MICK-GIN-ISS", with a hard "G", as in "get".

No problem! I actually have bought a lot of big things on ebay, it is quite safe. I usually just check if the person has a high rating and if they have sold something that costs more than what I am getting. Then I know they won't scam me since they sold something that is more expensive than what I am buying.Blue Head wrote:Yeah, or Bricklink (from first hand experiences, legos like the cafe corner shouldn't be trusted with ebay.) I agree complietly.Sir Kohran wrote:I don't really like brick built creatures; they look a bit robotic - they lack the organic, living look that minifigs have. I'd prefer to have the original shark model back.

Good point, but what if they're a new seller with no record, then it's a risk.No problem! I actually have bought a lot of big things on ebay, it is quite safe. If the seller has a rating of 0 then don't buy from him/her. A seller with a rating below 20 should not be trusted unless he/she has a positive feedback from someone who payed him more than you what you are going to pay for the item. Hope this helps, PM me if this is too confusing.Blue Head wrote:Good point, but what if they're a new seller with no record, then it's a risk.
