Halo

LEGO Company: Sinve Halo may soon be a movie, now would be a great time to get a license. Halo 1, 2, and 3 offer great chances for sets, terrian, buildings, vehicles, and mini-figures. Stuff like: Warthog Attack, Banshee Assault, Wraith Tank, Scorpion Tank, Mini-Halo ships and cruisers. It would be a great hit. Anyone to back me up on this?

I think that Halo would be a great LEGO line, but most likely completely impractical.

For one thing, LEGO seems to want to avoid themes that are almost entirely about warfare. Not only this, but it would mean tons of new molds and such for all of the covenant.

Like I said, I think that it would be great, but I'm pretty sure that LEGO isn't going to go for it.

No. M rated game = no no for Lego. They aren't going to make it. I like Halo, but I'm fine with making my own customs.

MOC pages can is all the Halo I can handle.

As you can probably guess, Halo is not exactly high on my list of must-have licences.

As a shameless Halo fanboy I'd LOVE all the new parts we would get but for the reasons above it'll never happen.

Ditto.

The series is over-hyped beyond belief- there's hundreds of other videogame (and non-videogame!) themes and tie-ins i'd rather have first, if Lego wanted to go down this area.

An M-rated video game isn't something TLC wants to promote to children. Even the PG-13 LotR movies were too "adult" for LEGO as their core audience is 5-12.

Halo is a fun enough video game, but it's just one in hundreds of other decent first-person shooters. I don't really see Halo as a particularly outstanding game, and there are plenty of others that I would rather see.

Of course, as an M rated, war-centric game, it would probably be against Lego's core ideals to make it anyway. Anything out of the range of Lego's core audience is pretty much out of the question. Even if an exception were to be made, I would still prefer something with more depth to it than Halo.

I don't mean to offend or anything, but Halo is a pretty generic sci-fi game by today's standards. Lego could easily make a sci-fi line like Halo without having to buy a license. Brand names are restrictive by nature, and this particular one would have all of the cons without the pros.

Put simply, a Halo brand would alienate more than it would attract, and even without the reasons listed above, I still don't even particularly care for Halo. In short, nope. :)

Like Blueandwhite said, MOC pages is all i can handle also!

And I agree with RichardAM, it is way over rated, IMO.
But LEGO, I would suggest you make Legend of Zelda sets, because that is a great series and not to mature for LEGOs!

I'm not that familiar with LOZ, but wouldn't that license cut the Castle theme, just like Star Wars cut Space?

Oh, and I'm not really a fan of Halo either.

This poll is flawed, there needs to be a stronger negative response than "No" ;)

In all seriousness, Halo is a very average FPS series, & although the KFOL community seem to love the theme, there is so many more things I'd like to see LEGO tackle first before resorting to themes based purely on a console game. Just my honest opinion.

Indeed. Halo is an average game with lots of marketing behind it. There's no denying it's popularity, but it would not make an interesting LEGO product line.

I'm generally opposed to licensed properties. The last thing I want is to have a dozen Master Chief or Link minifigs. People can always build their own stuff with what exists. We don't need LotR LEGO if we are getting generic dwarves, orcs, and skeletons in the Castle line. (Well, we still need elves)

Generic inspires creativity by not having an attached story. Licensed stuff stifles creativity by putting ideas into your head before you can come up with your own.

It's never going to happen, for the reasons listed above. Hoever, I would love to see it. There are some amazing Halo MOCs on MOCPages.com.

While I too would like to see official Halo lego, the fact is that it would be impossible.

Still, imagine the pieces you would get from the custom elites, hunters, grunts, jackals, and brutes. Wow you could make some nice custom minifigs.

I think its way too violent for Lego. Aren't the games rated 'M'?

Plus, I think the market for Halo isn't big enough to support a Lego line. It's too much of a niche, that Lego doesn't cater to.
