Chrome Longswords
Dear Lego,
You know how you often make those silver and gold chrome longswords? Well, could you make them in regular colors and not in chrome? I love the length, but I get tired of the chrome chipping off...

That is a good point. The only reason I don't like these swords is because of the chrome (not because of the chrome chipping off, but because I think the chrome is just ugly). Dark bluish gray or pearl gray would be nice, maybe black too for some dark skellie knights.
Between plotting to kill you all and chasing balls of yarn, I also build MOCs

Something like the color of the shortswords sounds good.

This is a great idea...why haven't I heard anyone say this before? I'm not a big fan of the chrome swords because they chip so easily, but it would be cool to have some in other colors.

I don't really like those swords because they're way too large in proportion to the figs. They're okay as the occasional hero sword (e.g. Excalibur), but otherwise I'd rather stick to the old shortsword.

But think about how awesome that would be! They could be longer, two-handed swords...even though their hilts are the same size...well, LEGO can only make so many changes. But everyone has their own preferences.Bruce N H wrote:I don't really like those swords because they're way too large in proportion to the figs. I like the chrome swords mostly in siler, but i agree other colors would be neat. Black would especially be nice. <I use the black zwords for my dark knights. The color is neat, but they're zwords.....ick> Bronze/copper is also nice. I'd like more in that color.
on a related note, the plastic under the chrome is really clear?? Been playing with them for years and never noticed that.

I don't know of any of my chrome swords that are peeling.
I'd like to see them in other colors too. Grey ones could be used as architectural details.

They exist in red, so TLC has no excuse.

Look closely at the sword Vladeks holding (the one in 8781)
(Yeah, I know its hard to see. Its clearer in person.)

Great idea Steve, I hadn't thought of that yetAthos wrote:Grey ones could be used as architectural details.

Hey,
Removing the chrome has been discussed here before in this thread and this one. The softer plastic used in the great sword (and presumably the daggers) is a milky clear:
The harder plastic used in the chrome armor (from the Pirates/Imperials) is a completely transparent clear:
as demonstrated by Will and TTK, respectively.
