I voted forestmen. Not sure why but I remember seeing the sets in the stores and have always liked them the best, wish I still had mine though.

I originally chose forestmen... and normally I would stick with that choice, as I do prefer them to elves, but since this line has magic influence and some dwarves, ogres (or whatever they are), I think that a few elves would be nice to see as well.

Of course I wouild hold hope (perhaps unrealistically) that someday forestmen would come back... but really, if I saw that, I'd be begging for Crusaders, BK and BF too. :)

I vote for Elves.
The reason is simple, We already have forestmen before so why not getting some cool new feature?

We haven't seen any pictures of the 2009 set, but i'm looking forward to see some new long bows, new quivers, maybe elven armor, elven shrine.

According to my knowledge, the theme focus on fantasy right now,
Having forestmen is like putting stormtroopers or indiana jones in this world.
They just don't fit in.

The most important thing is whether we like it or not, I think the most 2009 castle sets have been designed/made already, so lets just hope we all get what we want. :D

Forestman

I suppose it would really depend on how the elves looked. I would want to see some design ideas before fully anwering, but I have always used forestmen as elves, so I think forestmen would squeak by with my vote.

Elves, all the way! We've had forestmen in the past, and it's time to move on to new things.

Though I really like the Forestman figs and sets, partly because they were before I was into Castle and I only have one which I set on a pedastol, they had several years to sell and be popular. If you bring them back it wouldn't really be a "new" series. Now it would be nice if they brought Legends back and re-released a Forestman set or two, but I've got to go with Elves to have something new.

Do we have any other confirmation that there will be an Elves faction other than the picture in the magazine?

I gotta say Forestmen. For some strange reason, the whole "Robin Hoodness" about them appeals to me. (COUGH!)forumname(COUGH!) But that aside, I have other reasons.

Any elf theme that Lego might try and make would just not suite me. I can pretty well imagine the general shape and feel that they would be and I can't imagine it vibing with my ideas. Since Forestmen are their idea, my idea can't go against theirs, theoretically.

Quite frankly, Forestmen are just cooler. I mean apart from being medieval Jedi, what is really cool about elves? Forestmen however, have so much more potential. The possibilities of their nationhood, their relationships with other nations, their relationship with the forest....and there relationships with each other (forestwoman).

And then there are the pieces. I'd much rather see figs in the general feel of the old Forestmen, what with peasants and forestwomen, then elf figs. And then the amount of foliage, though large with elves, would, I think, be greater with Forestman.

But all in all, I'm just a sucker for anything that shoots a bow and has merry men.

I went for the Forestmen. What I really want is just a forest themed faction again. With a Forestmen type human faction I'd be more likely too get some solid sets. With Elves, it could go either way.

Also I think some sort of group of humans outside Crown control would be really interesting.

Maybe I'm the only one but the whole new trolls and dwarf thing doesn't excite me that much. I'd like to see a return to a human faction.

Because the percentages are rounded down. They are actually a few decimal points higher than shown.

Currently, the three options are shown ranked as 34%, 60%, and 5%. If you figure them out to three decimal places, they are actually 34.211%, 60.526%, and 5.263%. That's where the missing percent went.

Hope this helps,
Josh

Exactly. But make them Forest-Elves, so they can compliment our Forestmen not clash with them.

I'm a hidebound traditionalist when it comes to LEGO, so I voted Forestmen.

Plus elves are sissies.
